whats the riding like there? for the experienced? when is the trip?
yeah, what he said.....:D the wife loves to ride, but there's no real trails up here and it's intimidating for her to ride in untracked snow other than the field with the kids. I think she would really like an organized tour on some nice trails. bought her an '05 Expedition 550 fan 2 winters ago, it wouldn't bother me to go on a nice trail ride just to see her get some hours on it.

West Yellowstone Montana Chamber of Commerce, Yellowstone Vacations, Destination Yellowstone

West Jellystone Area has something for all SKILL levels (miles and Miles and MILES of groomed trails and meadows to play in)....you can ride all the way to Island Park if you want...It also offers the Steep and Deep (check local AVY conditions). I have never done the park tour (that is for SPORS).

It is a great place and time (especially for families)...It's like being in Banff/Jasper and riding your sled everywhere from your door. I have been twice in the last two years (during Christmas/New Years). It can get COLD during that time of year though (-20/-30 ish F)...We had awesome snow conditions two years ago not so great last year.

This is where we have stayed the last two trips. They have 1 & 2 Bdrm suites (fully equipped kitchens)...underground heated parking, a pool and Hot-Tub...it is beside the Golden Arches, across the road from the IMAX theatre and Grizzly/Wolf compound as well on the trail system. Lots of PARKING!!!

For Eats:

Bullwinkle's Saloon & Eatery for dinner

Running Bear Pancake House for breakie

I highly recommend it.

first time went into the park on my own sled, great way to see the park. Last year had to rent a 4 stroke(blech) and go with a tour...............hated every last minute of it, started late, got lumped in witha big group, was rushed( had to keep withn the speed llimit mind you) did not have enough time to stop and see anything. We will never do it again. they will let in 1.2 million vehicles when there is no snow and will only let in 700? maybe sleds a day. very disappointing. your better off going on the snow coach.

when we voiced our displeasure we were basically dismissed. Love the trails around there, dont like the park tours by sled......................I want to go in on my own again and take the time to see what I want.
