So I bought one of these Chinese cheap diesel heaters from Amazon, 8kw for $280 for my enclosed sled trailer and hooked it up, it ran for 5 minutes than started pouring diesel smoke out the exhaust like crazy then quit working, now I have a E-09 error code on the display and heater will not heat up, it comes on, try's to heat up but cant, then shuts down after a few try's.

I googled what E-09 means but cant find any info.

Any ideas what may be wrong?

Good news its through Amazon so seller sending me another one and i dont have to return the old one, we will see if that happens.

Probably should have splurged for a Wabasto Diesel heater but they over $1000.00 and be done with it but thought i try the cheap way first...dummy :) :nono:

You need a new glow plug. Buy two. I have three of those heaters. There awesome. Also have a wabasto. Same guts.

Where do you buy the glow plug for these heaters ?
Thx. for the info.

Right on Amazon. The same spot you got your heaters from. The wabasto ones work as well they just might not come with the plug for power. Might just be the two wires and you have to Maurett them together.

I just installed one in mine, fortunately it’s working well but if it ever does blow up the heater is the same size as an Espar or Webasto so it should fit in the cabinet. I’m thinking a lot of parts may be interchangeable between all of them. A buddy I worked for in Edmonton use to get all his work done at a shop just up the street from FGI. I don’t recall the business name but I’m sure any of them could help you out.

Thanks! The next step is to install boot and glove dryers above the Y pipe with valves to turn them off when not needed.

Nice , mines still in the box but see perforated pipe in my future, hope too get it installed in the next month or so .

Where did you buy the cabinet? What size fuel tank did you get to fit inside? Do you have a picture of cabinet open to see inside?

Yes it was a complete unit purchased that way. I don’t have any pics with the cabinet open but I can grab one tomorrow.

Mine has worked great as well. Out of 4 of us that have bought them only 1 guy is having issues. I think he has code E-05 ill see if he has his book to find E09 what it may be.
