Every year for a number of years now i spend a week playing in Blue River, Valemont and McBride. A few of us get together taking over one of Whisper Creek lodge's for the entire week.
We're all from different corners of Alberta and BC and ride with one another through out the season and get together for this occasion.
Last season we reserved as usual for this year but now Covid.
Our cancellation date is coming up soon if we don't want to lose our deposit.
My question is, there will be 4 trucks parked and 8 individuals staying in the same lodge(house), has there been any issues with law enforcement or district regulations concerning this in Valemont, where we are staying?
Has anyone gotten a ticket or been fined for a similar situation?

Please i would like honest replies and have your personal opinions of politics and hear say on this situation (Covid) kept out of the thread.
If we need to cancel this season trip for next, so be it. We don't want to be fined or cause an issue with regulations.
Thx.

Just go. Nobody cares. Follow the rules while there. Considering trucks are confined spaces. six people in the cab might look bad but honestly giver ****

Zero issues or enforcement in valemount. Go have fun. Whisper creek has great cleaning policies and ive seen multiple trucks parked at the cabins with no issues. Also the hotels are FULL. There is absolutely nothing to be concerned with. Ive been there over 40 days now. Your good. Wear a mask and wash your hands. Giver

I would think you could contact the owners of the lodge and just confirm with them that they are ok with the scenario. I would also think that they would know if any of their other patrons have had any issues and they would not want to have others go threw the same. That being said there are many hands on experienced guys here who have had zero issues and will not tell you about their sisters aunts cousin who got 10 years for having 2 guys in a truck that don’t live together when passing threw the “covid checkstops” that they believe are everywhere.

have a great trip and post some photos for the rest of us.

I have contacted the management of Whisper Creek today and they basically told me they are renting to the "one" individual making the arrangement and has put the card down on the deposit. How we use it as in number of people in the lodging is up to us as long as we are within the lodging rules of accommodation. They said it is up to us to fallow covid regulations and as host they do not enforce.
Our lodge accommodates 10 and we are 8 and from the feed back on here, no one has had Bylaw or Police issues about Covid and lodging in the same house, so i guess GAME ON, or unless things change between now and then with enforcement and reg's.
I still have a couple more weeks before the cancellation date, so just lining up my ducks.
Please post if you have ran into an issue.
THX

If you have someone back out let me know I would be up for it depending on dates

Hey Danny, you and Jess can join us riding, unfortunately we decided to limit our accommodation. We will have a few others possibly joining us during the week also.
Let me know and i'll pm you the details.

8 of us with 4 vehicles stayed at WCCR in the big house between Christmas and New years without any problems, anywhere. As mentioned just practice good COVID protocall.

Last spring you were saying it was a selfish act to travel and go sledding as it could put search and rescue volunteers at risk and put a strain on medical services. I thought that was a load of crap then and still do but what made you change your mind ?
You won't have any issues going

Unlikely the route I would go they have to give you the answer you don’t want to hear. First trip we were 4 guys 4 trucks 3 hotel rooms second trip we went 2 in a truck. From what I’ve read like in normal times if you give them an excuse to pull you over or show up at your place they now have further tools to stick it in you. Resteraunts and hotels business in general are happy to see you. The travel advisory is just that it’s not a mandate. BC is actually less restricted than AB is now go for dinner have a beer likely your group size will be limited to 3-4

Last March Lund and 3 or 4 other S&M members were calling me out for continuing my sledding activities...they now seem to have changed their tune. I was really dismayed by the tone last spring...something I expected from CBC & CNN fans...not S&M members.

But initially, you were to listen to the government, bla bla bla

Now, some people are starting to understand, covid is there, but way too much has happened for IT NOT TO BE ON PURPOSE, and are saying ya no I'm doing what I want

I didn’t ride last spring once the shutdowns happened but in hindsight I wish a had. Nobody knew for sure what this was all about. Now it’s pretty clear. Been to Valemount twice and plan on going a lot more. It’s a breath of fresh air to hit the mountains and leave all the troubles behind for a couple days. I’ve drove out separately every time just to not rock the boat but have seen others carpooling with no issues. Go and enjoy the hills just don’t be a dick.

Why should we all think the same? This is a crazy statement, it could be turned the other way too. The great part of living in Canada is the ability to think and believe what you feel is right.
