this comparison does not take in to account the greater energy efficiencies offered by a BEV, although i agree even with a correction to your equation, the difference between the two will prove to be insurmountable in the near future unless there are fantastic advancements made through SSD or graphene etc

Anyone know the efficiency of a conventional sled? IE what % of the available power actually is laid down on the track? I wonder what that will be for a BEV sled? 15%? Do you think the difference b/w the two will be as great witnessed in the automotive industry ? deleting a CVT and chaincase etc will eliminate a lot of frictional loss.

Also, BEV sleds will not be able to take advantage of regenerative braking.

Was watching a youtube vid about Ice age products. Ice age rep was asked why they make certain things for Cat and Polaris but not ski doo. His answer was that ski doo chasis is going to change soon so not worth it now.

Hahahahahahhaha thanks tips! Not much wind in the north shuswaps. Already on solar and it barely can handle my fridge and water pump without 4hrs a day of generator time.

Good point. The chassis is 5 years old.

There won't be any major changes with doo.
I am sure they have lots of items up on a shelf, no sense in bringing anything in new, until the competition sales increase..If they keep their sales up, why change anything?

For doo, I predict, perhaps improved plastics, 1'⅛" bar and riser on the X model,
Cat, Well maybe a rear bumper that you can actually get your hands on to lift it.(unless they changed that recently)
Polaris, I think they will have a special edition turbo package from an outside source which it de-tuned to to allow 1yr. warranty.

I predict Polaris will make some much needed updates. Shorter tunnels, new chassis, and a turbo with 7-8 lbs boost. I’m also hoping for a real rear bumper and better handle bars.

Skidoo will have cool new colours and who cares what the rest of them do.

New colors and graphics from all manufacturers. Doo will make minimal changes, as will Cat / Yamaha. Polaris will likely incorporate the Matrix plastics onto the mountain lineup. That’s all I expect to see...

One thing which I could see Doo doing, which is, or isn't major, pending how you look at it, is offering a longer warranty on the 850T now that it's proven and has some miles on it. Then again, with how it sold, no one seems overly concerned so why should they stick their neck out for it?

i would think they would need a push before offering a 3 year warranty ( Polaris releasing factory turbo with 2 year warranty) would push them to do so i would think. So we are probably stuck with 2 year for a while lol. People are buying them like crazy and there is not a comparable product so like you say...why stick you neck out. People have zero issue purchasing a brand new snowmobile, putting an aftermarket turbo on and losing all warranty so the 2 years is a real bonus for all of us getting into the turbo world.

It will help them turn more sleds every year if they did offer a 4 year warranty.

Most used buyers like when a sled comes with a year or two of warranty.

What your not gonna like as a t-doo owner is trying to sell a two year old one with no warranty.

Not sure. Never asked. Probably mostly non turbo guys that wait out the first year to see how they pan out.

I heard that they are going too bring back the World famous Elan 250 ,,, but with a Briggs and Stratton 12 hp 4 stroke...

Yellow with a black strip and a full length bench seat too hual 7 passangers and a factory hitch too pull a sleigh...

High and low range 2 speed gear box too...
