The thing about the skidoo is it feels lighter with the extra power. Same can not be said for a sidewinder

Power to weight ratio, as I am someone that just sold my Sidewinder with a 270 tune in it I will tell you all that I am having sellers remorse. The doo is NOT even in the same realm as my sidewinder in any way except the 50 pounds in weight difference which is noticeable when throwing it around but barely, I went from 66 mph track speed with a 174 to 45 mph on this doo which is a huuuuge drop in track speed and groundspeed. This doo is a good sled but you have to ride it for what it is and I am having a hard time getting used to it forsure, also my doo is the 175 so it is more tractor like not a very fast sled which i will be working on in my near future. Many of you slam the yamaha but still to this day I will say it is my best sled to date, not sure if I will ever get this doo to perform to the level I want without voiding warranty but I will be working on slowing down my riding and trying to improve my technique which also is very important, i won't win many races but I may go places others can't, except for Maxwell's girlfriend, she kicks my ass all over the hill!!!

If I recall, back in the day it was said that it took 7lbs of weight loss to equal 1hp. Someone do the math on that and you’ll have some answers.
yamahas, they build a lot more torque than a 2 stroke, basically double. Not really a fair comparison in my opinion.

Very true and it is very obvious to me now, little late ha ha.
You might miss your sidewinder but as the guy that digs you out I will appreciate the weight loss this year....
That’s interesting so at the end of the day my Alpha has gained 10 hp as it burned 74 lbs of fuel but the doo turbo still only makes 165 hp because it compensates....

I have never packed gas on a cat/polaris. I'm just saying that the turbo doo wet weight needs to include the jerry because it is literally impossible to ride that sled without it. 100L/100km fuel consumption.

Anyone weigh their sidewinder? I think 610 sounds about right with some lightweight parts, I have a cr hood on the way and skinz seat, as soon as I get them on I will weigh it rtr, I’m thinking under 610 but honestly haven’t weighed it yet so it’s just a guess. 40ish pounds extra is nothing for a reliable motor with a huge power advantage, I know lots of doo riders packing 40 more pounds in their snowsuits lol. They all rock, run what ya brung and try to keep up to the yami, let’s just hope we can all get out to the hills in this crazy world

it may not be the overall weight of the sidewinder that makes it feel heavy. It could be that the majority of the weight is up front, and that's a problem for most the way it nose dives so hard
