Might be a good Fall to sell a used sled.

I was just at my local Polaris dealer and they are sold out of ATV's and the salesman told me that Polaris sales are 10% above the previous record sales year.

The hot sales are throughout the industry apparently due to guys having extra "Justin bucks" and also going crazy sitting around their homes and not out spending on restaurants, bars, vacations etc.

In my my area Covid really started ramping up at snow-check time and I believe there were very few snow-checks this year as many were nervous about a big expenditure. I could be wrong on that with Doo now offering their turbo but I bet the Polaris and Cat sled sales are down.

Anyway with the latest buying trends I would not be surprised if good used sleds are gobbled up this Fall.

Any thoughts or knowledge of actual snow-check numbers?

I hope your right on used sales. I have a sweet 2019 that has to go for the replacement sled

Any word on snow-checks? Not sure if a decent year for Doo can reflect to other brands though?

Yep, I do as well, unfortunately if this license plate animosity keeps up with this covid BS, I may have to seriously rethink my snow check. Especially with a two year warranty.

Word on the street with certain dealers, snow checks are down.

I really hoping that some local guy snowchecked a new Polaris and can't take it. Been thinking all week that maybe it's time to buy a new one and sell my 2017

Used market price up maybe a good thing for me. My 2019 SC SKS 850 might be up for sale with warranty until Dec 2022

I never heard about other dealers Chris as stepped away from the business aspect of the sport last January. I think the boys had an average snowcheck. Around mid 60's I think. All turbos but 3 I think?

They might be dreaming? But you also are underestimating people lack of gives a fawk of being in dept. if people want something they will go into dept just to have it. Me personally I won’t be buying a sled for a few years (mountain sled that is). I been counting on a slow sled sale year and can maybe pick up a tundra cheap!

I have heard the same. Snowchecks were impacted due to Covid. However ATV sales are up. Not everyone purchasing an ATV/boat/rv is financed to the Max. Some customers have money, and will always have money. what they didnt have was time. Now without their kids in hockey, soccer, dance lessons, SCHOOL, and the parents off work. They are looking to spend time with the family and what better way to do it then go buy a bunch of toys

Totally agree. For people that don't believe it go try to buy a seadoo, holiday trailer, ATV, SxS, or dirt bike right now. If the rest of the province is like GP there are very few to be had. I went looking for a donor 300hp seadoo to build another jet boat with, none to be found, the salesmen at the dealer laughed when I asked, every unit they have had and still have coming for the year are already sold.

There's lots of people out there that still live within their means, and have extra cash or credit to throw towards some new toys.

Store is pretty much out of everything in Cochrane. All the dirt stuff and water is almost gone. Its crazy. 1 piece in the upper showroom. They have shipped Sea Doo's to eastern Canada. Everyone is out of product and sleds are gonna be coming soon.

u think they can buy all the summer toys and then realize there's still no work, economy sucks, company's are downsizing, then buy a bunch of winter toys.... the curve will recorrect. All those sales now means next summer those sale will be lean.....

A lot of small business owners that pulled the $40k provided from banks that’s backstopped by the government.
I think we know how a lot of that has been spent ?

Yes I do. I'd bet for every new toy sold there was a ready buyer that couldn't buy one because there wasn't one left to buy. Those people will probably look at winter toys to pass the time instead. I'd also bet next years sales will be good too, those that now have more time to use their existing toys will probably be wanting the latest and greatest next year.

With restaurants, bars and movie theaters being closed for so long, vacations cancelled, etc. lots of people have that cash laying around and are itching to spend it. I know this is my case, this is one of the worst years I've ever had income wise, but my reduction in spending has far exceeded my reduction in income.

Cat may claim their snow-checks had a sold date prior to the "stop sale" order. They would then just pay BRP the penalty payment.
