I’ve tentatively bought a used Boss seat for my daughters M6. The guy I’m getting it from says that the seat is mounted simply with Velcro. Is that true? If so I was hoping to buy some right from Boss but their website seems inactive. If I can’t get it from them, does anyone on here know what I’ll need exactly?

Depends on the sled. But yes mostly velcro.
On dads 2004 1M
Velcro, two snaps and a ring around the filler neck.

On my 09 crossfire. Just velcro and two side snaps.

Personally I wasn't a fan of the boss seat. Was glad to have sold it.

Murray from Mountain Mod built way better seats. He did all of Bakers builds

I’m mainly just looking for info as to what I’ll need to mount the seat. There is a small tear in the stock seat of her sled so instead of getting it repaired I thought I’d just replace it. Found this boss seat for sale for a good price and they claim the rider sits 3” higher. She’ll only be 11 this winter so the sled is too big for her. I figure sitting up a few more inches will help with her visibility.

For the M series a wide strip of velcro and two push snaps. I have one on my M and it works good a lot better than the low rider it came with. Another good option is the Cat seat from 2010/2011, a little heavier than the boss but mounted better and with more storage. If you get the boss be sure to clean the tunnel good so the velcro sticks. I used acetone and it worked good.

Ideally I’d like the 10/11 seat. I put one on my 08 back in the day and loved it. Only thing is I don’t really wanna break the bank on a seat and I can’t seem to find any used ones. Kinda surprised me actually. I assumed there would be a few around.

Anyone know if BOSS is still around?

Just search 1 or 2" self adhesive velcro. Not hard to find online anyway.

I liked the BOSS seat I had, was on a Doo not a Cat but pretty sure the foam all the same.
Was rock hard when you sat on it but was actually the right density for all day ride.
Had it 4 years and no rips or tears but did fade a bit for a sled that sat indoors.
Decent storage space considering the Doo seat had zero storage.

We ran the BOSS seats back in the day. We just ran Velcro strips about 2 -3 inches wide on both sides of the seat/tunnel the length of the bottom of the seat. 2 snap buttons to either side of the seat to attach to tunnel and done. Only thing is to be sure it is the correct seat for the sled so that it aligns with fuel tank that it rests up against.
