Enlighten me. What is a mountain rider? Maybe a poll would help.
Only ride above 5000'?
Only ride chutes?
Tight trees?
How about bowls?
Is a turbo required?
4' powder or more only?
Min 163" track?
Must do 50' drops or regularly catch 50' of air?
Sleds only or bikes?
Can anyone self identify as a mountain rider - even if riding a 121' x 1"

How about it? What is a mountain rider?

I live, work, and ride in the mountains. Am I a mountain rider?? Absolutely.

I don't ride chutes. I don't have a turbo. I don't do drops or "catch air" but sometimes I am out of breath and need to catch air. I'm not a biker. I ride from 1600' - 8000'. Considering all of that, I am a mountain rider. The attached picture is at 8000'.

If I spend most of the time on the recliner with my feet up and occasionally get up for a beer, can i still identify as a mountain rider?

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
I have climaxed at 7000’ a couple times so I’m a mountain rider. I purposely shot on my buddies triple pipes on his mountain max. Haha. It was a warm spring, hood off day. He pulled his gf’s shirt up and squeezed nikked bobs for a visual for me. A good buddy he was! He died in an avy so I feel it’s ok to tell the story now.

Only a mountain rider if you go to revelstoke with monster energies, white oakleys, lifted truck, no tarp, and post to Instagram all day then retag all your buddies with the same footage. If the words “sick bro” or “crushin monies” doesn’t roll off the tip of your tongue you aren’t a mountain rider.

Ask yourself...

Do you get stoked as the week goes on to load up with your buddies on Friday to head west? Crank your neck as you see another truck with sleds on it? Give guys thumbs up as you pass them en route to the hills? Listen to hard tunes on the drive down and talk about the trip the whole drive back? Crack a beer no matter what time it is when you pull into town? Love the smell of 2 stroke? Get up earlier for riding than you do for work? And are serious about the saying “any day sledding beats a day at work”?

Yes, you can identify as a mountain rider.
