Canadian snowmobile has done some testing with them in the past. I emailed them to see if they will have a demo.

They did 140km trail ride with an energy usage of 200wh/km based on a 28kWh pack. I’m trying to get more info about deep snow power usage. My wild ass guess is 600wh/km in deep snow (but it may be higher).
Plug them into the Tesla superchargers at Sandman in Revelstoke.

Yep. Hopefully the chassis is designed properly to get the power transferred to the snow, or it will just blow the snow out from underneath it.
Thats the instagram model that Taiga will probably sponsor to test their sleds instead of Johnny. haha

you know at 534lbs that’s pretty good. Most 163/165 models have a wet weight over 500lbs. Just assuming the taiga weight needs nothing more unlike fluids in a conventional sled.

I'm confused, they say the sleds will last long enough to be useful on the mountain but the same 180hp motor in a watercraft says 2 hours on a charge? Gotta think it'll be using more juice to ride in deep snow and have less battery life in the cold than on water in summer.

I’m pressing them for a wh/km number for deep snow power usage. If it’s 1kwh/km that will be really bad.

The day I can pull my 4 place with an ev truck from Saskatoon to Valemount with a 30 minute charge in Edmonton in -30 is the day I trust an ev sled to last 120km in the Backcountry with charge to spare. These things use the same battery tech as everything else, they're not magic. If they had some secret they would be busy taking a bite out of Peterbuilt and Boeing.
