Anyone got a rough idea what it would cost to ship a snowmobile from Quebec to Alberta?
Found a motoki snowmobile from the 70s there, and my Grandfathers first ever was a 73. Hoping to pick it up for him before he passes away but if it's 2k sadly I don't think it may be possible. If anyone has suggestions please let me know

I’m off to North Bay today and will be back in Calgary on the 8th of Feb.
It’s still a ways from Quebec though.
Near the end of February I’ll be in Montreal for a week or so.
Let me know if you can get it to North Bay and I know for sure I’ll have room on this super B load for a sled.

Could try Trusted Dispatch as well, not sure if they do business out east or not. Kinda like Uber for hauling.

How old is gramps ?

would not spend 3700 for that. 2k ish not bad but for 3700 you best have some sentimental attachment to it mire than gramps had one back in the day.

Barry would be about 250 km south of where I’m working.
If you could get him to drop off in north Bay all will be good.
I have ten feet of space on my back trailer

Who knows, seen one or two in the last year on Kijiji, and maybe 4 or 5 previously in last 10 years, but when you looking it’ll probably never show...... Murphy’s Law

Are you sure he’d even want to see another one again in his time? Lol, as much fun as I had on the thing there was lots of misery too, gas shooting on your balls, really hard to start, hard to keep running, loud, smelly ,uncomfortable, brittle hood, tilloson carb really fussy, I rode mine till it had no hood, only one ski, half the handle bars.that old 440 Capri almost killed me once when the throttle got stuck

Youre absolutely right, if he knew what I was up to he would tell me not to waste my money lol. I don't really care about how much it is as long as I see a smile on his face. Basically this is more of a showpiece for him and grandkids. I suppose if its not to be, it's not to be....Just like drugs once a person goes searching they end up with bad ****.

thanks for the advice!! Much appreciated

I shipped my motorcycle across the country a few years back. Kelowna to Ottawa. Crated it and dropped it off at the depot.
I used Canadian freightways, which has a few different subsidiarys depending on what province you are in.
Memory is a little foggy, but I think it was about $750 for a 4'x3'x8' crate and took about a week. I think they were half the price of any other option at the time.
If you can get a broker or find a hotshot that is doing the trip, you may do better.
Regardless, I would highly recommend you crate it and mark it well. The forklift drivers can get pretty rammy.
