I think the Blast is a stepping stone that is long overdue in the sled world. It was designed for kids (like the Polaris EVO), but brings a lot more to the table, and electric start / EFI is a bonus. Sure, a 600 or 800-850 has more power, but what 10-13 year old NEEDS 150-165 horsepower??? I raised my kids on fanners until they were skilled enough to handle more power, and mature enough to respect it. This would have been a great tweener sled for them... modern chassis without the intimidation factor. For what it is (NOT an adult sled for the seasoned rider), I think it's a welcome option.

The Polaris Evo has electric start as well as electronic reverse... The fuel injection would be nice though. I also prefer the fan cooled over the liquid cooled as the girls have a tendency go considerably slower than the boys and stop frequently to chat....

Sorry I came across wrong, I meant Poo can build a 170hp sled that weighs less than a 400 -65hp.. Cat should have built something in the 380ish range. Did not mean kids need HP

No worries. Yes, they Should have built a lighter sled, and maybe something with 70-75 hp, or at least given a power up kit with it. But at least they did something, and perhaps the other manufacturers will step up and offer a mid sized sled - anything to get kids off the Xbox, right? Yes, Polaris has the EVO, but the tech on it is less then stellar, the days of playing with carbs should be long gone

Cat introducing the 200 has been huge for our family.. We've spent countless weekends out riding b/c the kids can on there sled - once you get off the 120's at 3-5y/o, it's a big leap into even an older 340 fan, they aren't strong enough to steer and run the throttle..

Never thought i'd own a Cat, now they've got me into a dealership, checking out Alphas while grabbing sliders and ski runners for the 200...

Dirtbikes are sized right through for kids, Textron is taking sleds in that direction...they've got my attention..

I think its a cool sled and much needed in the industry for the younger ones to get involved in the sport. Ski Doo is leaving a lot on the table by not building something like this for the industry.

Exactly! How many Elans did they sell back in the day? A million? Huge market potential they're missing.

I would like to see these at a demo day. I bet the wife would ride it until the kids old enough!
