I declare the winner of Kanedog dp challenge..........NINER!!!!!! Both his 2019 Alpha 165 & Turbo Pro.
I declare the loser, by far, of KD dp challenge..........the man, the legend himself........KANEDOG!!!!! On his multi million dollar T3 174 turbo admirer!

I feel for you KAneDog, I really do. When I heard the story from your side I really felt bad. I can’t even imagine the f bombs that were being said that day. Shat happens Brush it off like the champion you are inside. I still believe in you buddy. Get that sled dialed in and hit them back up for a rematch. Don’t let it get to you

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
I think I was more puzzled than po’d. Even when the clutching is off it runs good. It will makes more belt heat but the belt heat was 100. I never had the motor act like it did. But whatevs. Investigate, repair, ride.
I found it’s a lot harder to ride a lame sled. I’m not used to being at bottom of totem pole.
That’s what I get for being a loudmouth. I will continue being a loudmouth though. It’s good entertainment!

Why don't you get a Turbo 4stroke? For the kind of riding you like to do, it would be way better.

Then you could be the Big Dog on the himark circuit.

I've got an xm with a centre mount that has a track speed of 80km/hr in deeeeeeep snow and my ground speed is just about as fast - I raced on a climb against my buddy's 850 doo BD sidekick - destroyed him - like it wasn't even close I hit the top he was still in the middle of the climb

I bet his sled is just spinning and yours has good traction. The difference, when you see it, is crazy.

Track speed-ground speed=Track spin.
On two identical sleds, the sled with least track spin will win. Traction is king. These two numbers are required to optimize clutch tuning.

I cant understand why you still believe your own sales pitch. You had a 16 wide 174 3' that lost to a 15 wide 154 3". You had more traction, I had more track speed, Meaning i was moving more snow. As ground speed increases, so does your track speed, and at some point they will be equal. You explained an analogy of 2 drag cars, one had radials, the other had slicks. The one with slicks hooked up and beat the one with radials as all it did was spin. That theory doesn't work with snow as the amount of traction is determined by track speed or volume of snow moved. Asphalt is a constant and will always have available traction, however, snow does not.

not saying traction isn't important. but any time you are climbing something steep on a sled, hp is going to be a big factor.

A better analogy for sleds is Airplanes or boats thrust. It's thrust, not traction, when climbing.
Thrust =weight of snow(water or air)*velocity.
You can either throw more weight at same speed, but will only attain slightly less than that speed.
Or you can throw less snow at an instant(shorter track) but throw it a lot faster.

Either way, the sled that is throwing more TOTAL WEIGHT of snow per second backwards/weight of sled and rider will be the winner.

You stock bolt on clutch parts changers are hilarious. When yer done patting yerselves on the back and wanna graduate from clutching elementary school, set aside the ego and just look past the end of yer driveway.

This entertainment is great. It’s very interesting to see how some people react to different situations. But like I said, very entertaining. Carry on.

That being said, now that a 1000 clutching wizards have appeared, teach me something that I don’t know. I love to learn new things.

Help me to beat a stock sled someday. It will be a very exciting and monumental occasion for KD!

True. There is a point where no amount of traction/clutching/lightweight etc can overcome the hp factor depending on conditions. Now imagine if you can have traction and hp combined.

What about a car that "dead hooks" on the start line? all the HP and traction at one time... car go nowhere

Is that not a Tra primary in the pic of your xm? Tra 3 is a perfectly good primary when you customize it for what your trying to achieve

Right? I kinda like the Tra also. It’s kind of a pain to tune on the hill but I like the way it performs.
My sheave angles are cut to my specs and I put the starter ring back on is all the changes I have done with it.
