Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
what envelope are they pushing exactly? how much money they can possibly loose before calling it quits? lol
I thought you were thinking of getting a cat? Tell me you didn’t buy a Doo did you? Also, please start another of your riding pics thread. The pics and terrain were great and I enjoyed checking out the different places you rode.

That was quick - some tender need to defender feellings at the doo camp
Better not produce another lemon to soon, still seem a bit tender from the last one boys

Once again refer to Alpha thread page 76.
You better hope Cat does not make an 850 - Doo cant even beat their 800.
Not be a G(It sucks again)5 in my garage.

lol

Just waiting for the G5 buddy, just waiting for the G5......................

Why wait for the G5 when the last year of the G4 will be better. Who knows if the G5 will be better. That’s another couple of years yet im thinking anyway. Still have to do a season with a 175 expert before a model change.

The 16xm was a way better sled than the 17 G4.

You think they’ll do a 175 expert? Seems to me that the 175 fad has passed. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see a lot of guys riding them anymore?

Im thinking Guys probably would of bought the expert over the regular 175. I think the expert has excellent value over the x.

Plus doo did it in 2015. Only two track lengths for the T3, than the rest of the line up got the T3 package in 2016.

I don't think doo will make the same mistake twice and put so many changes into one year.
Mr Kuster warned BRP of the bulkhead, clutching and motor mounts but come on...marketing knows best, push it out for consumer testing!
A total "game changer" sled is dangerous even for those spot on engineers at Valcourt.

Cat did not do as many radical changes in one year and the Alpha actually worked as advertised, even better.
Skid was the change, motor-clutching-narrower chassis-front arms-track were done progressively before the Alpha release.

For owner sake I don't see the G5 being the same first year flop as the G4 and then need 3 years of tuning with fingers crossed.
Do will do better next time.

remember the xp? skidoo makes big changes and it takes a couple seasons to work out the bugs.

alpha was built off an old platform. a new skid and track is all it is.

Yup, as I said there were 3 years of changes to the Chassis, clutching and motor before the Alpha Skid was added.
Even the track lug pattern was tested the year prior.
Makes for a nice no issue release. Hence those page 76 results.

I think Cat has done a great job the last couple years of making staged substantial upgrades and not doing a huge unveil that needed a ton of refining. Maybe they learned their lesson from the 2012 sleds that were a flop and took years to sort out.

2017 - drop and roll with narrower boards and belly pan and some small weight savings measures
2018 - New motor, new clutches, narrower panels
2019 - Radically new Alpha skid and new track, released a hardcore model for hucking

Whereas Doo went all new everything in 2017
2017 - All new everything, clutching sucked, chassis cracked, motors popped, tracks shed lugs, electrical issues
2018 - Fix electrical, Fix chassis, try and fix clutching, added 175 and Freeride and SHOT
2019 - Fix Shot, try and fix motors, fix clutching
2020 - add Expert, try and fix tracks
