Cats rear skid is a little more adjustable.

try adjusting the limiter strap....

I'm one of them, can't ride a Doo even if my life counted on it. That weird T bs makes the sled have a mind of its own almost. The sled just doesn't feel rigid or as part of me.
Most all the guys i know riding Doo's have locked out the Tmotion on their sled with a few weird exceptions like Tex..... LOL, i don't think his is locked out.

I never was a fan of tmotion to be honest.
But it has been on the Doos a long time now so I'm used to it.

Thats what it is, getting use to it. I don't ride Doo's all that often so i'm not use to it.

Rode one the other day in decent snow. The ergos and me do not work with Polaris. I always fall off. Even flat land

Yes compress the front shock all the way and then do up the limiter strap.

Its definitely me not the sled , i just watch my buddies side hilling upside down on there cats and Polaris’s while I change belts

. I’m just sour after 14 belts in 2 years (plus a couple vodkas last night) changed to Polaris this year and really like it. They all work good just get the one you like best. Got a couple buds that ride 153 cats and they love them they go everywhere with them.

Haven’t experienced any washout with the 154 alpha. Really easy to side hill, don’t know how it compares to a 165 though as I haven’t tried the 165 but i’m Guessing they are really close.

I don't care what sled anybody rides . But whatever it is you have to learn to ride it . Another key is personal fitness that plays a huge role . As for doos not being able too side hill . Did you try taking your but of the seat and standing up a little . lol

The only real way to decide is to actually ride them. If you plan on keeping it for awhile, then its probably worth getting a demo if u can, or rent one for a day. If you ask 50 different people their opinions, you get 100 different opinions. Unless all 50 are saying its junk, stay away then at the end of the day you just have to pick what you like and thats it. This day of mountain sleds, there all pretty damn good so pick one and go ride.

Oh ya sure go and bring physical fitness into it!
Next thing you will expect common sense to be thrown in!!

All kidding aside you have to be fit to push these new sleds at all.
This is not the gym in town- this is a workout at 6-8,000' for 8hr stints.
If you are not fit these machines will be riding your azz by 11:00AM.

These are two machines with a different stance, little different riding position that are similar in the true 3' deep sense but different everywhere else.
You will need a day on each to find what is BEST FOR YOU, neither is bad.
Rent or ride as it's a big chunk of change for a new purchase.
I have had Doo and Cat - easy to "learn" to ride either - but they are different.

I finally got to ride an 850 Doo and an Alpha this past weekend side by side in Mcbride. Both 165’s. I ride a Polaris so of course the Cat felt more familiar but the bars were too low for me personally, so doing anything technical felt awkward, and shocks needed a little less pressure. It didn’t take long to love the power and ease of turn in. Set up for me I could ride one easy. Cat got this one right.
The Doo steering and how far forward u are on the chassis was unnerving. Great power and turn in was good. I would need a couple days to really get used to it. Nothing wrong with either.
I need to try the new Axis chassis now. and will be able to make a decision.

As was said. You have to ride them side by side if possible to be sure of what’s right for U.

It is awesome to have so many 2 stroke options....... STILL !

PS. The boys lined up on a steep untouched slope with about 1.5 ft fresh.
The Cat was first to the top for what its worth.
