Hello Sledders and Snow bikers Beware:
So first I'll start by saying this was my experience with Extreme motor sports in Revelstoke BC and not all was bad but things to watch out and be careful of.
I booked the Snow Bike rental way back in October when I was the Sled show in Edmonton as they had them pre season priced at $350 a day. So I gave them a $200 Deposit to hold the price and the bike for our trip. The bike I wanted was a 120 kit not the 137 which is what they had at the show. This was all good until I showed up to pick it up. I went in and pulled my receipt for the deposit I noticed it said $375 which was wrong so I asked the guy to honor the agreed price and he seemed angry but did and his response was "Must have been a nice guy that day" so we continued on and when I asked about insurance it seemed like it made him more angry like all I wanted to do is protect myself if something went wrong. We loaded up took pics of any damage etc and headed for the hill. The bike rode great tons of power and what a overall good experience it was to ride the machine. Then we returned the bike and went to our room. This is where it made us mad. We were driving home and my buddy looks at his credit card as he did the bike deposit and notice it was refunded the charged for $30 bucks which is nothing but we had no idea what it was for as there was no call or anything. We thought maybe for the fuel we used which would be fine but we only burnt at most 5 litters of the avgas that was in the jerry can and we only topped it off just to be careful. We only rode it for maybe a hr after that so it would have burnt next to no fuel as I was getting tired so I wasn't riding much. So I called to have a explanation of what the break down was the only info i could get was that it was for fuel "I" burnt. If this was the case that means he was charging around 6 Bucks a litter CRAZY and I have yet a call to know. To use it was weird that the amount charged was nearly the same as the amount he gave us off due to the booking in October where he "Was a nice guy"
So in conclusion if you are going to rent from this outfit get everything in writing including what they charge for fuel, What they are going to charge for the rental and make sure its right etc. I don't expect to not pay for the fuel etc that's fair but seems weird why the amount he gave us off due to the early booking and the fuel charge are next to the same. Seems like they charged us for a full Jerrycan of fuel. $30 bucks is nothing really it the whole situation that leaves a sour taste and something people should beware of because if they will do this it could end up bad for someone one day.
