Go into Long Lake provincial park, at the T junction turn left towards the cabins many staging areas down there.

Actually, the best thing to do is stay on hwy 831 and go 5 kms north of the main Long Lake turnoff / Happy's store corner to the alternate access road to the Long Lake Cabins. Turn east onto a gravel road and its 1 km in. On the north side of the road is a fairly large staging area.

The county has done a pretty good job in the last few years on keeping the staging area plowed in the winter. People used to park at the gas station (Happy's) but there has not been too much room at the gas station as they don't clean lots of their yard in the winter.

Then from that staging area, you can backtrack with your sleds a couple hundred yards towards the highway (west) and I believe you will find a groomed trail heading north.

Or head down to the lake and on the east side (near the narrows) there are many, many miles of trails...some groomed by Roadtech.

Roadtech has been doing a great job of grooming many trails around the area. It might be worth sending him a PM to see where those trails are.

Lots of good info in the link below
