Last time I was first up to the morrisey cabin I lit the fire, at the end of day I meet up with feriniesnow and his wife at the staging area, he had brought down my friends tunnel bag that was left in the cabin, boy dis he seem pleased that i lite that fire for him. I have too agree light a fire warm the shelter, why? I know I’d be happier so I know it could possibly make someone else happier, do you need more reason than that? The chance to possible make a cold and tired fellow sledder warm and happy?

Ya, I dunno. I understand peoples reasoning for supporting either side of this argument. And, if i wasn't on a strict diet, cutting back on internet argument, would love to dive right into this low hanging fruit.
At the end of the day though, if you need a sign telling people to haul their garbage home and to not chop wood in the cabin because they are obviously to stupid or ignorant to think of stuff like that on their own- you likely shouldn't demand that same group of people start a fire in an overly elaborate cabin and ride away.

The only area I've ridden in the last 10 or so years that has a warming hut I can think of, is Seeley Lake, MT. Anywhere we ride in Wyoming don't have them. When I used to ride Revy lots, the only reason we stopped at the Boulder or Frisby cabin was to sign in and out.
I don't think most people won't start a fire because of laziness or not giving a crap, it's they're on a different plan than others for their day. Some people plan on making the cabin or warming hut a stopover point and some don't.

So very true and when I’m first one anywhere in the bush the fire is first but like you say not me ! ,is how they do it

The only cabin I ever get close to is locked so.......
OK, so.....I have a key. It's never been in the lock though. I don't hang out in the cabin, and if I wanted to be splitting wood and lighting fires all the time I wouldn't have put an auto lighting wood pellet stove in my house. If you want a fire, light one. If I want a fire, I'll light one.
