Hi I’m looking for any information anyone can provide on a head on accident on the owls head trail in Sicamous, around 230-3pm on dec 7. Someone must have seen it, helicopter took my friend from scene to salmon arm.

I dont mean to be that guy. BUT this is what happens when we get guys that ride on the wrong sides of the trail, racing up to be the first one to the cabin. Everyone needs to slow down and start treating the trail in the highway we come in on. Theres no rush, take your time.... and slow it down.

I hope everyone involved is ok. And i hope we can learn from this.

Owls is one of the two most frequently used ares by myself and my wife in Sicamous. This story has us both beside ourselves and filled with so many questions. We wish a speedy recovery for those effected but we also would like more information from those in the know so we can learn and grow from this. I personally always take the lead and in this case would have taken the brunt of the damage/injuries. The wife is now running many many scenarios threw her mind as to the “what if’s” all that we can hope for now is that the one who caused this carnage to be man enough to step up and admit his mistake(s)

scary stuff here!

Who said it was his fault?

Usually only the guilty flee the scene.... am I wrong?

if there was nothing to hide why would there not be 2 sides of the story here???

The other party stayed for an undetermined amount of time before the hurt party was air lifted to hospital. I am just going off of what I have read, but it sure seems like there is more than likely guilt on the part of the one who was no longer at the scene and unknown to the family of the injured. A coma is a big deal and I don’t think that many would have left that scenario weather guilty or not...

Sorry, guess I'm missing something.Somebody was looking for a witness to an accident. I didn't know someone "fled the scene".

That's not the way guilt is applied in a democracy, nor should it be.

Very true. I am sure there is a very good reason to not have stayed until the full story could be disclosed and heard by the rescuers. Perhaps it was lasagna night?

all jokes aside, this is a very serious incident that hopefully shows some light at the end of the tunnel with recovery. I should not have assumed guilt so for that I apologize... but it is very strange to leave without someone being able to know just what the hell happened and the family needing to turn to this forum for information.

to the OP please post updates as you can.

Is that what happened? Was it on the groomed road on one of the switchbacks?

I have a funny feeling in my gut, this has to do with Rene's passing. There are no details as of yet between the two. but this accident was in the same area and both are referencing an accident.
