So probably worthwhile switching to the uv82hp? isnt there a function lockout on the 82hp that the b2 plus doesn’t have ?

Bottom right hand side is the lock for your radio, the b3 is the 7 watt version.. not tested though. The UV82hp switches between channel modes and frequency modes by turning it off and on, which is good because there is no way it can switch between the two. I wish I could test that wouxun radio, the wouxun smo-003 mic is a way superior mic though.

They are the best I’ve found. Tried an tested a few. Can’t beat the range the dual freq. led light help find dropped stuff. Mikes are great don’t freeze off or snow fill.

Been through two of those style mics they don't like moisture. Still receive but corrode the wiring to the transmit mic.

Well I may have found a way to get the wouxun smo-003 mics into Canada. I will let you know in a month or so if it worked. Your problems will be over.

Anyone get the gps location to work on the zastone 889? Worth the premium $ on this unit? I read through the instructions, they’re a riot. lots of talk about the ARABIA numbers lol - meaning alphanumeric

Kind of funny that the BCI mics I sell and have have sold over 800 don't have any problems with moisture.

I have yet to see a mic last as well as an actual Kenwood kmc21. But beware there are knock off kmc21’s.

Kenwoods do have a US Mil Spec rating as well. Only splash proof for the -21 but more durable than the cheaper options. That being said I have a couple of cheap $8 knock offs and at some point I want to dismantle one and see if they could just get a coating of liquid electrical tape to prevent any corrosion.

The mics i got in seem to be the exact same as the wouxun SMO-003 mics. In clearity and volume.

Baofeng radios from RGM. They worked great in all conditions this winter. I used them on wet, cold, icy and snowy days. Very happy with them and would buy again.

Not sure what it is about the wouxun smo-003 mics but they keep cutting off the ways you can get them into the country. I have received 10 and 10 more coming after that avenue was cut off yet again.
