Just wondering what boots are lasting now, as I wore a pair of Klim boots out in 2 yrs(4000 miles). Klim boots where great while they lasted but aggressive boards have eaten the bottoms right off.

had MF stompers for 6 maybe 7 years, recommend them if you like light thin insulation (I always had wet feet prior to the stompers due to sweating) . believe you could have the soles replaced on them also if you wanted. I just wanted new boots after 4-5 years so got another pair of them.

Ski doo makes an excellent pair of sled boots. I have tried mf, they are terrible, klim are really good also. My last pair of klim I still wear around the yard at home. They are starting to leak after 8 years of abuse.

A friend from Salmon Arm just got new soles on her Klim boots in Vernon. Not sure of the shop name, most boot/upholstery repair places should be capable of performing this. The Klim soles are intentionally soft to make sure they can grip in the cold, you don't want them too hard.

I’m running fxr right now and I’ve been thinking it’s time to upgrade. They have been alright I guess. My feet sweat a tonne so it’s hard to find the balance when it comes to socks.

Try the Tobe Vivid Boa. Little stuff at first but they are awesome boots.

Motorfist boots have been great for 3 seasons, i like how they feel more like a hiking boot then a bulky snow boot.

I use Klim Adrenaline boots. They are great but like anything else they only take so many days of abuse before they leak. I find I can get about 180 days of riding out of a pair and then they are good for the garbage.

I like to measure the amount of days they last rather than years. Some people ride 10 days a year and the boots would last for a long time they way I ride. IMhO, boots are like gloves and they are not made to last forever.

I totally agree, number of days or miles is way more relative to boots life rather than yrs, I have taken boots to be resoled at the cobblers rack in Vernon, I will let everyone know how they turn out. Thanks for all replies.

Man! how do you guys make your boots last so long, I'm lucky to make them last 1.5 seasons, I ride about 1250km a season....

How long boots last depends on a lot of factors. Today some of the sled's have very aggressive running boards and if your board's are after market they are likely even more aggressive.
Your riding style plays a huge factor, no one is the same, an aggressive rider will chew a pair of boots a lot faster then another less aggressive rider.
No matter what brand, eventually the sole will fail dancing around on an edge like surface, whats more important is that they keep you warm and dry till then.
As an example wife and i ride about the same amount. I'm lucky to get 100 rides or 4-5 season's out of my boots, while the wife ran her last pair nearly 10 years with very similar ride time as i get, so about 200 rides.
Generally i'm finding myself changing my boots when i change my sled.
BTW, the last 2 pairs of boots have been FXR Boa, awesome boots, i recommend them if your an aggressive technical rider/hill climber. They are a lean forward design with a solid sole to allow you to roll onto your toes in a climb and very rigid ankle support allowing you to get right on the edge of your boards with confidence. Unfortunately they suck for walking but then not meant for that.

I believe kicking snow out of your running boards has a lot to do with how long the soles last, my 2012 pro was brutal for holding snow, constantly kicking the boards to clean them out, and after a season, boots start to look like the pic above. I used to go through a pair of boots every other season until switched to a set of the powder trac boards, Been on the same set of FXR tactic boas for 4 seasons now about 2000km/season. Invest in good boards, Skinz air frames, B&M fab, I think CR Racing just came out with a new setup, it'll probably save your boots.

I agree 100% about the kicking of snow from the boards. Some guys are anal about it. With the new designs of OEM boards on our sleds, I don't have to kick snow like I used to.

Helium gear out lasted the Klim gear as well. Only Klim product that held up was the gloves.
