Fair enough. That is a good point. The only time my shovel has been out in recent memory is during an avy course, probably why i haven't discovered it's a pain to put away when wet.

We take them out for stucks, and with my riding style there are a lot of stucks, clearing an area for a fire, and for testing the snow conditions.

I rarely use a shovel for stucks. That’s too much work.
