knee braces and sledding

Hey everyone, looking for advice.
I religiously wear knee braces all summer on my dirt bike, and I'd really like to do the same in the sledding season. I have worn them a few times, but they won't stay in position. They tend to slip down until they make contact with my boots, and are way out of position at this point. Does anyone have a solution / success with this?
My current braces are Leatt C-frames, and I'm wearing Motorist Alpha boots. My last setup I tried were EVS Web pro braces / Motorist Stomper 2 boots.

The problem, as I see it is that snow boots are much shorter than MX boots so the braces do not get "clamped" into place by the boot.

Check out the Evs Pastrana knee pads - they are good enough for the girls I go with

I wear CTI braces sledding and have no issues. The braces should fit so that they are held in place on their own and not by your boots. I wore the same braces on my bike and they didn’t contact the boots at all.

These are custom braces as well so the fit is made specific to my legs.

Mine stays in place. Cuts up my pants. But doesn’t fall down.

Get yourself a set of hockey socks to wear over them. They make some thinner ones so you won't get too hot, heck of a lot cheaper than tearing pants.

I'm trying Mobius X8 knee braces/guards this year. Have used EVS guards over top of knee brace in the past, but couldn't keep everything in place. The Mobius system look like a good all in one solution.

FWIW, if the brace slides down often then it is not the right fit for your leg. FYI, I have been wearing the mobius the last 2 seasons with great results.

I wear my Mobius knee braces during sledding, prefer the added protection over knee pads. I use a tight base layer pant over the knee brace and it seems to keep them in place for the most part. Not as good as a motocross setup but not flopping around.

I had the same problem till i got these pants they have made wearing knee braces so much more enjoyable and help with wear on the pants

I wear football braces and they work real well but I wear shorts and put the brace on the bare leg and it work's real well. I now wear a custom BREGG brace on my Right leg because I have arthritis in my knee and it works great ,plus I still wear the football brace on my left leg. The Bregg brace is expencive at 1800 per leg but you can put it through aids to daily living if you get a prescripyion from your doctor and they will cover 80% of the cost.

Resurrecting this one, for the guys with the mobius how has it held up?

Does it hamper the ability to ‘dangle’ ? Lol

Im open to any other suggestions as well, the alpine star stuff looks good too

i bought the mobius braces last season. They really slow me down and made it hard to ride. I went back to a hinged brace with out knee pads. Now I can dance the sled again. But if I land knee first on a running board it’s gonna hurt

I've got a few seasons on the AlpineStars Fluid Pro's, I only wear them as preventative measures, and only on occasion when I feel it's needed. They have definitely paid for themselves and was glad to have them on a few times, and they have held up fine. Fit is solid and secure but have not had them stay 100% in place all day yet (as mentioned they can slowly lower 1/2" or so), nothing bad to the point it has ruined a day but have had to adjust them here there thru the day. Gotten used to them over all, but nowhere near as comfortable as the HMK D30 Knee/shin guards I wear otherwise, those things are so comfy I don't even know they're on, and give good impact protection for what they are, not a brace tho..

I see, I don’t necessarily need the brace, I just want something to protect my knee and shin when I hit my boards (happened to me last season the pain was no fun)

I’ll look at what fortnine has for those hmks they sound like what I’m after

I've got a set of CTI and if i wear them over a base layer they tend to slide down as well.. Dropping my onesie to adjust my braces.. Gump....

If you’re looking for some hard shelled cheap easy to find guards I had really good luck with some Thor ones, like $20-30 they were literally like having nothing on but had a ‘shell’ on the shin and kneecap, just a thought if you’re need something quick
