Each to there own. If i had to choose between white court and the island, be an easy choice.

In fact i have 80 acres at shining bank and rent it out. Cause no desire to be there.

Glad you like it though. But I think the island is awesome though...

Living here affords the me the ability to go lots of places when I feel like getting away, and with 9 weeks holidays a year and working shift I can do that lots. Seeing how my buddies have to live on the island makes me never wanna do that. One is a supervisor for a fairly large surveying company and the other is a journey carpenter/ foreman for a commercial construction company. Both live in apartments for $3000-3500 a month, work 5-6 days a week, both drive little citiot SUV’s and have nothing but what they can fit in a 600 square foot place……. I would like to go out there sledding one day before I give it up though. Looks like some pretty cool terrain

Do what you got to do. the island might not be the best place if you are poor.

I think i could find them a better place for 3500, unless they are right in victoria maybe...

It’d only be ~2 years then back north for project work up here, rent seems similar to PG

Just COL is a lot more, really messes with my fun fund haha

But anyway, if I get the offer and you know anyone renting a basement or something lmk please

Yep right in Vic, not a cheap place to live that’s for sure. If they lived in a little more remote BC or Alberta they wouldn’t be poor, cost to “live the dream” I guess lol

Family being out there and his wife is what’s keeping one there. The other one is really thinking of coming back to Alberta. Both are from around here. Maybe they are both closet Trudeau lovers and they are embarrassed so they hide out there lol

Id love to listen to their reasoning on why they think that Turd is the cats azz. It would be fun to debate them. Did they have head injuries early in life? Lol

I thought you wanted to live in the USA because you were embarrassed to be in Canada,

Yeah real estate $$ is outta control right now. Got in when it was reasonable. Grew up by Edmonton, lived in Calgary for 10 years , then Kelowna for a few. Been in Comox Valley for 15 years. The skids are a plenty now and india is moving in fast. BUT the adventures one can go on here are like no where else IMO.

Yup the ferries suck but not the end of the world to deal with, property is expensive in the good places to live but there are cheaper options if ya wanna live more remote. If your into the outdoor lifestyle all year long there's no where better that I've ever lived. Funny you say we are all liberals , I don't run into many in my circle of life and I meet lots of different folks through my job. I did 6vyear in Hay River( closest place to Whitecourt I've lived) and I enjoyed it but I will stay down here .
