So here is where the bitching will start. The Doo guys are going to whine that their track is a 16" wide so the Polaris should be a 174" to have equal footprint and weigh in. And the lightest and most sold Polaris has the 2.6" lug track. This is what Polaris guys choose if they are interested in lightest weight. Then while your at it, do we use an electric start version of the Polaris to compare to the Doo with Shot? Does the Cat have to be the dual rail version to be fair? Or do we compare to the Alpha?
I think it should be each brands lightest sled with a 16_ track length. No electric start, no fancy shocks, no painted tunnel (if that's and option).

Agreed, that Apples and oranges game can be played all day.
If the weight comparison is the 163 class sleds that’s available in the 3”. Thats what it should be. Even if the sled has optional shocks quick drive etc, this should be about whats available from the manufacturer during snocheck except estart, shot would be acceptable IMO, cause it comes with the pull cord, I dont think the capacitor is that heavy.
It may be harder to find a actual pull start x cause the shot is a very popular snowcheck option.

Good idea to weigh the sleds together on the same scale at the same time. Even with all things being as equal as they can, the haters are still going to hate and find something to argue about.

Nope, I don't agree. It should be your brands lightest version with a 160ish track length because if you are in this argument at all, then weight is important to you and you will not be buying a heavier version of your brand. It is too bad that Ski-doo does not offer a light version of its G4. Your way is "Let's weigh your brands heaviest version". The Polaris with the 2.6 lug holds it's own in the back-country and it is what you will be comparing your Doo to when you are on the hill so why not on the scale too?
Parameters are the 165 class 3" sleds.
We'll see what FACTORY options are on what we weigh that day.
Would be nice to see Winder there that day also.
Then the whiners and haters can cry their individual blues.
But I am only buying beer for ONE weigh in.
And only one bottle fire ball for ONE fatty of the day in the 2 stroke class.
The well organized multi class weigh in is next year........ you just gotta wait!

Yesss thats true, what Im saying is stick to what guys order. How many “x” pull start 2.5” 165”s are out there in Alberta, maybe SP’s, so to satisfy your argument on the lightest sled that’s what it will have to be, the SP’s have heavier shocks.
To make that work would be very difficult with what your suggesting. Im not against it at all, it will just be tough to pull off in a short period of time.
The perimeters of this have already been set to 3” lugged tracks.
If weight mattered to me I wouldn’t be keeping my stock can, or bought a sled with a 3”.

Makes no sense to me as the 3" on the Polaris is an upgrade option, but whatever you need to do to make yourself feel better about it.

You do your weigh in as you want.
Maybe we drink beer at both but parameters are set for this one, date is suggested but still flexile till Fastfarmer locks it in.
