I am curious to hear what everyone would expect if they had a sponsor or were sponsored for a season, not by Monster or Red Bull but an average type deal. On the other side of the coin what is expected from the person that you sponsor?

I was sponsored by Raptor performance shocks. They gave me about 8000$ in free shocks. I will always be grateful for that, but at the end of the day I'd rather just pay for my stuff to be honest.

Ok I get that, them being a dealer. But let’s say I wanted to sponsor a rider. Someone that isn’t a pro but wants a chance, is committed and is an embassador for the snowmobile community etc. What would each side have for expectations? What’s going to help the person get going?

Missing the point. All I’m asking is what is expected. Here’s an example. An entity I know sponsors a sports group. They supply all clothing, equipment and cover costs for facility rentals. They provide transportation costs and cover out of town accommodations. In return, that group only asks that each person that tries out for that group is included in one way or another, and that they are not named as a sponsor or promoted.

In in my mind if you sponsor someone you would want to ensure that they have gear, fuel, transportation, and maybe even a sled or parts / mods covered. Just wondering what people would look for.

Beggars cant be choosers, anything you can get in most cases. Alot of the time it is 10% off what ever product. What the "sponsor" expects back in return is up to them. Usually it is advertising that leads to sales of their product. In your cases i cant see any benefit on your end.

I’m not saying I want to sponsor personally, or at all maybe, but I know through some of 5he social media outlets there are some people out there that do some cool stuff. There’s a couple guys in Blue River or ride Blue that drop cliffs that unless I was blind or dead wouldn’t go off. I’ve seen first hand people reach, train and encourage others to push themselves or reach a higher standard. For me I think it’s pretty cool, I’ve never been sponsored for anything in my life so I have no idea. I’ve never been a part of giant corporations so no clue on that culture when you stroke a check for $100k to someone what the ask is.

Nobody gets 100k checks in the sledding industry except MAYBE Heath Frisby.

True I guess, but I know for a fact that it happens. What a hood sticker on a NASCAR worth? The logo on the hat that’s on Tigers head? So if you were to have your say, as you have been sponsored what would you ask for?

So what’s the costs to make a video or get that kind of stuff out in the atmosphere? Exactly stuff like that, from people that do that stuff in Western Canada.

Slednecks had a budget of around 60g a year,,, they went out of buisness and stiffed my friend Donovan for 30g....

The sledders don't get payed anything to be in the vids. They do it for the exposure and for the love of sledding

60 isn’t bad...that’s the big show though. I think those guys need some exposeure, maybe they have it already I don’t know. There’s some pretty awesome local talent around that needs some lense time I think.
