Bored here at work figured I’d share my Last days off Pre-Season Deck Restore I did with my son. 4 years old and had a blast drilling and cutting wires.

Not sure the year but it was an older Bare Aluminum Crosstrax Short Box Deck with an extension in rough shape plywood/wiring wise. The restore took me a total of 2 days stripping it completely to the frame all wiring removed and to re-install everything back to new.

Fun easy little project thought I’d share what I had done.

1. Powder Coated Entire Deck Black
2. New 5/8” plywood with a coat of Line-X
3. New lights/complete wiring
4. Re-used/Added Superglides

Looking really good. I've never seen one that was completely powder coated.

Damn, looks super nice! I’m due for an overhaul here next summer, had looked into LineX on a couple sheets years ago, was outrageous, any chance you’d share on what the wood getting sprayed was $$?

I am in the middle of restoring my deck right now! Yours looks better than mine! I have 0 experience wiring, could you explain how you wired it? There was 0 wiring on it to begin.

Haha for sure I checked into the decking Marlon use before i sprayed but it actually costs more then taking regular spruce from Home Depot and getting it sprayed. I paid $125 a sheet which covers the sides and ends aswell. 2.5 sheets total for my deck/Extension. Dropped it off Wednesday picked up Friday really simple. Pre-cut the wood to match existing wood. Make room for the 1/8” Line-X Coating and bam all good.

Thanks I’m sure yours will turn out great aswell. I wired the sides and rear on 3 separate circuits and then used a Power Block to connect it all to one truck adapter for my F-350 Truck box. Really simple. Used some 14/2 Covered cable and picked the easiest/cleanest route for lighting. Most decks if it was pre-wired will have a few holes and cable spots already there so it should be simple.

Yep, I have the same set-up, deck with expanding sides +extension that pops into the end. What kind of range of pricing for the LineX on the sheeting? (I'm assuming all edge and both sides of all were done) When I looked into the same thing (years ago) it was over the price of having an entire truck box finished..

I paid $125 per sheet included 1 side and all edges. I used 2.5 sheets. It can get expensive for sure I found a decent deal and they did a nice job

Planning on starting on the same project here...how has the line-x held up? How about the coating on the rear rails where you hook the ramp, would you do it again or does it get beat up pretty quickly from the ramp and carbides? Did you end up doing anything for slide/wear pads in the side extensions? Looks awesome!

Home tomorrow I’ll take some pictures held up fine. I used super-glides for the ski’s deck still looks the same as the day I finished it.

I did however forget to get the ramp rail/and extension rail coated after powder coating it. And I used some Canadian tire stuff that didn’t hold up. I’ll be taking it to get done properly sometime this summer and will find out this winter if lasts any better.
