Cheaper this year than next year, blows my mind that the prices keep jumping like they do. Wish my pay check followed suit!

Nope. No questions sleds are amazing out of the box and exceed most rider's skills and the need for mod sleds like days past is well... passed but we are still paying too much for them. Almost $20k OTD for a snowcheck is insanity and far exceeds wage growth making the sport un-affordable for many especially as a family activity. That said the sport is still amazing and I won't be stopping due to cost any time soon no matter how much sense it may not make.

That's what I was thinking. The manufacturer keeps adding new and exciting innovative products but the cost is shooting themselves in the foot as new sled sales are down. The other question is , you can buy a 2016 m8000 for ten grand but the 2019 cat is eighteen .Eight grand pays for a lot of shedding. Yes the 19 is better but that 16 cat wasn't that bad. Geez I wonder where we are headed in this sport .

Yup machinery in general is 30% more thanks to the Canadian advantage.

The US dollar is loosing value too, maybe just not as fast as ours...lol

it has lost 99% of its value over the last 100 years. That is why cash isnt a real good long term store of value.

But then again neither is a new sled, they loose value even faster than JT bucks...lol

In them hills.
That an interesting stat.
Really only follow our dollar indexed off the USD.

So whose dollar has gain the most in the last 100 years?

All fiat currency looses value over time. Gold on the other hand (if you look over a long period of time) does the opposite, always goes up.

A gold plated alpha1 is the answer then. Holds it's value and all the new tech.

Yea until they build an 850 next year... At least the gold will still be worth something.

I am sure you could take a left over 2016 cheep cat and show the guys with all the new tech a thing or two...If you would ever through a leg over a cat.

A Cat could be my next sled, you never know. Next "new" sled I get will be a non-current model or gently used. Why pay 18,000 for a new alpha when I could wait till february and get one for 13,000,, or get a new 17 for 10,000$.

A guy takes too big of hit on the snow check chit IMO

That's a great plan but shhhh if every one would do it the big manufactures may have to drop there snow check as they would be far to expensive and no one would buy them.

What 1 year old sleds are being advertised for is ridiculous, 16g for a sled with 1000miles on it, good luck with that, cant recoup the interest on a used sale. Lol

I was sent this from a buddy. This dealer is on the east coast where I grew up.
So out the door this sled will be approx 11500. Keep dreaming but there are suckers out there.

You know I considered this too but kinda shot myself in the foot.

Dealer and I got our wires crossed and long story short I didn't get my name on a snow check for this year.

So I thought no big deal. I'll just buy an inseason alpha with a 3 year warranty instead of 4.

Wrong.

I think Cat is trying to retrain us.
Or maybe fix the used market for their sleds.

In season purchase of a 2019 only comes with a one year warranty.......

2018 or older non current comes with a nice rebate and a 2 year warranty.
But there isn't many 2018s left, if any at this point.

Doo is the same with in season purchases.
But you have the option of more warranty or 1 year and a discount off mrsp.
