Sled is important but it really comes down to the rider. I always ride drag. Easier to keep up than to lead

Used to be just under 160-157 ish and the new motor was supposed to be just over 160.
Have to line them up to see what really maters but definatly a wide spread on tested motors.
Poo 850 looks to be killer sled!

I agree with you. If the engineers at Polaris did their homework on the new mill, its going to be a weapon. No more saying the poo is light on power compaired to the other two. My personnal choice these days would be between the doo and poo. Poo's fit and finish, attention to detail to me has always been meh... but from a mechanical and engineering point of view there hard to beat.

Um did we forget about the pos liberty engines, clamps and glue issues? Maybe the last couple years have been ok but the previous 10 to that their mechanical and engineering left a lot to be desired.

Will be interesting to see how this powerplant holds up.

I'm talking in a very broad, general sort of way. There is no question that polaris had some low moments with some of their engine designs and glue issues. I can think of some triples and the liberty that were less than stellar. Their engines over the last 30 years would have been their weakest link. Clutching,driveline and chassis wise, they've been pretty solid. Doo and Cat for certain years, not so much.

All brands have had their share of issues. Don’t turn a blind eye to something because it suits your argument.

What makes you think I am doing this? I’ll be the first to comment on the other models if the same thing was said about one of them and I didn’t agree.

For example I f someone said doo was solid in the engineering and tech department then I’d be commenting on the RT, the current wobble clutch, bulkhead issues, etc. Or Cat electrical.

But this was a response to a comment about poo that I didn’t feel was accurate. Sorry if that hurts your bum.

An actual Polaris 850 run is on Dynotech now. 168hp @ 8100. Same peak as the Doo but the Rotax is way torqueier.

Well that was all for nothing. Fake news at work. Polaris numbers not as exciting anymore. We’ll all see how she delivers.

There is nothing to worry about. Polaris is great at building reliable engines over 800cc's

Lol, just retarted the timing to make it fair.

Well the old 800 liberty was claimed at 155.7, add the claimed 9% from Poo so its increase is potentially around 169.7.

The poo engine was always very mod friendly over the Doo.
Play with the timing and the fuel and 175hp IMO could be possible. Now add heads and a pipe this new poo 850 could give a 850 doo BIg Bore a really good shake down.
Time will tell.
