whats your thoughts on a Polaris 550 Supersport

Fan cooled, wouldn’t waist my time, they are lightweight, good for kids, low on power compared to the 500 liquid cool, had one when I was a kid, always ran hot, probably why it has a cylinder down, got to hot, they stay reasonably cool when cruising at a steady pace, but if the trail gets bumpy and windy and the pace slows down they get hot

I think $2,500 if it was running perfect would be the top price. Never had any luck with rebuilding a fan cooled. Never seemed right again and always blew up in short order.

his kids rode it around the acreage .probably,why it took a piston out. I had a 93 Indy 500 EFI last 6 yrs. started 1 pull. rode rough. tried a few bigger sleds. a 03 800 Vertical escape153 ? ,no good for my trail riding. a 99 Indy 700; handled awful. will try this.

I totally agree with you but need to add one more thing, its worth $10,000 but i want $15,000 because thats what i owe on it because i put no money down and took the lowest possible monthly payment so i want you to pay for my stupidity.

If your friend sells you an underpowered, broken 11 year old sled with a bad motor for $3,000.......lose the friend.
Had a 550 supersport.
Underpowered and couldn't go through a good field of powder breaking trail.
Sold it after 2 years, got tired of getting it unstuck.
OK on trails though, smooth ride.
Went back to Phasers.
We now have 4 Phazers sitting in the shop.
Waaay better machines than the Supersports.
The Supersport was reliable, zero repairs and my cousin has had it for about 8 years now. Trouble free but gutless!!!
