Has anyone ever have a leaky linq fuel caddy ? One screw on the bottom plate looks to have been over tightened and pushed a hole right in the bottom of the can. It’s not a gusher but it’s a leak. I took a blowgun on my compressor and blew into each hole in the bottom of the can and 3 were air tight but sure enough one is leaking.

Mine was leaking when I took off the bottom mounting bracket to change out my Linq fastener. When I re installed it the leak stopped. They kind of cheaped out on these as they should never leak through a screw hole. Especially on a $150 fuel jug. If mine starts to leak again I am just gonna throw on some teflon tape and see if that stops it.

Looking at mine it looks like the torx bolt is a bit to long and pushed up inside the can. If I try another I am going to take out those 4 bolts in the bottom and space them out with a washer or find a shorter bolt.

Was yours leaking from the bolts as well ? I thought of using seal all or even some sort of lock tight. I was thinking on filling the bolt hole full of lock tight and putting the bolt back in and letting it sit until next fall. Does anyone know if green or red lock tight is gasoline proof ?

No, mine was leaking from a small gouge on the top about halfway down. Small pinhole leak. The seal all worked well and you can barely see it.

I had one leak, but totally my fault, slid it down the ramp on the superglides, put a pin hole in it. Never had a leak at the screw holes though.

Ya I don’t know how the screws pushed up into the bottom but one is through and the other one is just about. It’s both front screws if the Can is on the sled , front right went through the plastic and front left is close. I bought the can when I bought the sled new , sled has approximately 500 km on it. Love the idea but don’t love the 150 clams to buy another.
