2015 HCR won't start??????

Last used it Feb 18th. Rode McBride. Parked it in the box of my truck and tarped it. It rode around in my box until today.
It would not start.
I pulled plugs they were dirty so replaced with new. I checked the spark. All 4 have good spark.
Still can pull and pull and pull and pull. It doesn't even try to catch.

Thinking fuel pump issue?

Check your fuel too. I bought shell premium locally recently that didn't last more than a couple days and it was rotten.

Does the screen light up at all when you try and pull it over? if not it is more than likely a tether or kill switch issue.

Put a few drops of fuel in each spark plug hole then try.

If it starts and quits. Your not getting fuel.

Or warm it up in a shop. Fuel Might be frozen somewhere

Yes but I wouldn't have spark if it wasn't working. I have spark so teather is good.
But yeah thought of that too
I would unplug it temporarily anyways and try it...... We had similar situation in bell parking lot 2 years ago. Turned out to be tether

If my reeds were gone would it start?

Also there is a copper dust/coating All over. Not sure where it came from or what it is.

I had a bad batch of fuel once, had to drain it and then had to put fuel down the plugs to get it going.

Disconnect the fuel pump pigtail, and put 12V DC to the pump directly to ensure that the pump is running. You should hear the pump relief in the tank splashing fuel if its not completely full.

Reconnect the pigtail to the fuel pump.

Disconnect the fuel injector pigtails from the injectors, and with probes connected to a 12V DC source, quickly tap the terminals on the injectors, you should hear an audible clicking of the injectors opening and closing.

Do this to both injectors. And reconnect the pig tails.

Check the ECU vent tube, make sure there is no condensation, ice, or kinks in the hose.

Remove the spark plugs from the engine. Pull over the motor with the spark plugs out, look for any mist coming out from the holes, if you see a visible mist or spray. It may be flooded.

If its flooded, disconnect the fuel pump, and injectors again and start pulling. And pulling. And Pulling. Connect the spark plugs to the wires and rest over top of the holes and pull see if it pops.

Once you dont see any mist or spray when you pull it over, reconnect everything and install the plugs again.

I bet it will start now.

anyways, I pulled the plastic back off today. I pulled the fuel line off the rail and hooked up a spare car battery to the fuel pump. pumps fine, could hear it and see it pumping fuel.
Next i tried to check power supply to the pump. i struggled with this as it was hard to hold the leads to the pig tail and pull the sled over, but if i was fast after pulling the rope i could watch the voltage drop from just above 3Volts to 0.

I taped the throttle open and shined a good light in through the air box, the reeds all look good, everything in there looks good.

Pulled and pulled and pulled and pulled with the plugs out. about 40 pulls. I'm still getting a wet mist, so letting her sit a couple hours with the plugs out, then will go try again.
$h!t, just re-read i'll re-disconnect the fuel pump and keep pulling.

Also checked fuses, all 3 were good, and the vent tube to the ECU box was clear and good.

why would it flood like that just riding around in the box of my truck?

Stuck injector leaking fuel.

Did you try cycling the injectors with the leads? If they don’t click they are stuck, if ones stuck start tapping on it with a handle of a screw driver. A good solid whack.

With the kill switch off, tether pulled, and key out, the fuel pump will still pump when pulled over. All those three only limit spark. So if you’re pulling it’s pumping fuel into it.

I'm not going to say this is your issue here but it is very common for condensation to build up in a fuel tank, all makes. What happens especially if a sled pickup the water from condensation and then sits, it will plug the system and won't allow for any fuel to flow. Especially if it is cold, it could even freeze.
I'm always in the habit of pouring a little ISOHEAT in my fuel tanks after every 4-5 fuel fill. Been doing this for years.
If water got to the injector, which i suspect might be your issue it will not atomize the fuel but more dump or drip fuel, it will be very difficult to start IF it even does.
Best deal is to get it indoors and pour ISOHEAT or equivalent in the tank. The stuff works fairly quick, even in your situation.

Water stuck in an injector can cause both a no fuel situation or a flooding situation as water is much heavier then fuel and can either jam the injector shut or keep it partially open. Either way the injector solenoid will not be able operate (open and close the injector needle) and the water will just sit there.

Thanks for all your help guys.
Learned how to test a few things.

she was just massively flooded.

I disconnect the fuel line pulled the plugs and pulled over 40 pulls, lots of mist came out. wiped the heads down gave another 40 pulls, same thing a steady mist.

took the little torch to the plug holes, ignited the fuel in the cylinders. heated the plugs and put back together.
1st pull started right up.

i guess if i plan on leaving it in the box of my truck i should install a fuel shut off.

When mine flooded it ran for 30 seconds before I turned it off and plugged everything back in.

Make sure you let it idle until up to full operating temperature. Let it get good and warm, try burn off all the excess fuel in it before driving.

too late for that.
the idle was weak, so i putted around the yard slowly. shut off by the neighbours, bus's a bit, fired up and sounded better. now she's back in the trailer.
