I think better signage would be a big thing around here especially with the different snow years. Not much snow for the last couple. Take ministik for example. Only a couple entrances going in there and lots of signs to keep quads out during certain parts of the year I believe. Haven’t been out there for awhile.

What about putting up little quad signs on the trails that are year round ATV trails?

Quad signage would work out there as well. There are some trails I use to add mileage but they don’t get taken care of as I think not many people use them. Could add some loops.

can't just add loops on a whim unfortunately Keith as I'm sure you are aware there is a governmental process to go thru to add the loops. That land is crown land but SRD has final say as to what goes on in there.

Bullchit right back at ya. If you can't figure out a trail's been groomed for sleds just by looking at it you're either an idiot or don't give a chit. Grooming is blatantly obvious. How do you think the snow got that flat? It didn't fall that way from the sky. Around here the reason is always the second one.
Curiously enough, quaders never seem to get on the trails we leave rough all winter.

in AB a lot of quadders are not sledders, and a percentage of them have no idea what a groomed trail is for. Yes! a pile of them just don't care. but to say everyone knows what a groomed trail is for, is sadly mistaken. Putting up signs stating what the groomed trail is for, may be the only way to inform people.
coming on here beotching is a gigantic waste of time in my opinion. put up a few signs, where people access the trails from parking lots etc will likely get the most compliance, otherwise this is just another roundy round school yard beotch fest.

These are existing trails. Just grown in more then the others. And when I say grown in the sxs has branches scraping the side.

Do you understand we are talking about the Edmonton area and not BC? There hasn't been this kind of snow for sledding in 3 years here. Most grooming has basically been a waste of time as it doesn't last long because of lack of snow+ warmth.Bullchit right back at ya. Put up signage saying it is a snowmobile specific trail. If it says multi use who are you to say the quads can’t utilize it. We all have the same rights to public lands and as previously stated lots of guys don’t even own snowmobiles. If all I had was a quad and still wanted to get outside and enjoy the trails I would. It’s not an ideal situation but if it’s designated as multi use it’s fair game.

While some may argue, you are 100% right. However, Stanger Hills has both sled trails and multi-use trails. To complicate things even further, the snowmobile club will sometimes graciously groom the multi-use trail, making it even more confusing to those who don't know.

The big signs are marked but it can be hard to figure out if you don’t know the area.
I see tons of disrespect everywhere I ride no matter what I'm riding sled or quad....usually it involves a juced up machine the person didn't even pay for it yet and not from the province they acting up in....or locals are real bad too which I find really strange,walk right out thier back door tear it up and litter.....people have just gone bad.

ya a lot have likely less than a few hundred into a machine, the rest is financed, as well as everything else they "own". no idea how they live, financed to the hilt. just trying to show off i guess.
