Good on Polaris. This site amazes me. They build a new more powerful engine like the faithful asked for and guys are disappointed? Not sure what people expect? I guess its to hard to please everyone?

Factory turbo, everyone want factory turbo and warranty. Probably will never happen...

it's kool. i like the fact that they are backing it up with 4 year warranty. that is huge for polaris. usually they are all about extended programs, which suck. lets see what happens next season as when i was at the dealership i heard the ol' ( we have done extensive 100,000 mile testing) line before. that is exactly what i was told when they came out with the piston update for the dragon. Fail. only time will truly tell!!!!!

Pretty sure I remember doo talking about multiple years of testing on their 850 as well, lol.

I'm thinking Doo had some very carefull test pilots. They needed some don't hold back return sleds completely dusted test riders.

Exactly... the consensus was for small refinements to chassis, electrical upgrade, and more ponies!!! Polaris obviously pays attention to these forums and followed through!!!!
I snowchecked last year, so not sure how I'll wrangle one this year but I'm sure I'll come up with some " logical " reason/excuse :p

This is the truth it sure feels like it won't happen someone will have to partner up with aftermarket guys first and test them like yammie did on 4 strokes with vipers and were not even there yet

Ya I'm guessing the marketing department was probably a little gun-shy on the 900cc after the whole dragon/fusion 900 fiasco. Sledders tend to have long memories.
Lots of great snow check only options all the same. Interesting strategy to do the 850 as a snow-check only. Should boost some sales.

They are saying 9% more powerfull than the 800's which dyno 151 to 155hp so the Polaris guys say. I'm guessing they will do well with these sleds that 4 year warranty is defiantly a feel good thing for many.

I don’t get it. Is it just the Doo guys who are mostly upset that Polaris released an 850 because now they are not the only 850 cool guys?

Or is it the guys who liked spending $3000+ to get an over bore on their 800’s?

Did Polaris need to change arguably the best and proven rear skid? The Alpha is new and might be good but the public hasn’t had a season on it. I like the narrower stance. It wasn’t needed for the Axys but it saves a few bucks and likely makes the arms stronger. I said this would be what they did last year as it addresses to issues and it is welcomed.

It didn’t matter what motor Polaris released it’s not good enough to the Dootards. Everyone has had their 900’s and heck 1000sdi’s lol. Who is following who. This motor had a lot of changes which are hopefully improvements.

I would have liked to seen an updated clutch from Polaris. The P85 is great but it wears out faster than I like.

After talking to a former Cat guy who has been in Doo the last few years and the guy who wrote the patent for the Alpha (6+ years ago) this last week and hearing about what other patents he has done for Cat the next 4-5 years for all manufacturers are going to be pretty impressive.

Wow Fred, you need to go for therapy. There is a manufacture with a factory turbo and goofy steering already. It hauls ass. And there after market turbo kits that perform amazing. Maybe try another turbo company, rumour is there will be one more kit next year for the doo.
