Lots of surface area tho so maybe the weight will be distributed enough?

I wasn't thinking so much about the surface area as it looks double wide but just that it's so far from the edge. Will enough snow get that far in on hard pack even with scratchers?

I rode a year with one scratcher (busted one in reverse), and when I replaced the hyfax later, both were identical thickness. I figured the one would be toast a lot sooner. This'll be fine.

Yep lots of downward pressure in one spot? Cool idea though. I like how easy the sled does doughnuts. Should be fun!

A 174 dual rail can whip some nice doughnuts too. Hope they have some sleds to try out this winter yet.

I think that the concept of the mono rail is pretty cool, I'm not a Cat fan, but still would be interested in trying one and also watching the longevity of it.

Far as the color goes...... Who cares !!

Until you get a chance to ride the sled, it's pretty tough to pass judgement on it you'd think.

I couldn't agree more with Trashy about the colours, who cares. But i guess since it isn't an all black factory boosted sled everyone is gonna cry about it.

I'm thinking the monorail has some ride time and a bunch of time & money invested into it. If the test rider feedback was negative, I doubt it would have made production. Is it for everyone? Time will tell. Some folks would cry if their ice cream was cold, they will never be satisfied - even if it was an all black factory turbo two stroke with 200hp with a dry weight of 300 lbs. But a little food for thought: Arctic Cat was the pioneer in the slide rail suspension in a world of track bogies, and now EVERY manufacturer uses it in some configuration

How long will that single rail last?? There’s been a lot of twin rail suspension built over the years from the manufacturers, and people have bent them. How much side load will that beam take before it bends.
Really neat idea.

I though the same thing but at the same time square tube is much stronger than a 1/2-3/4” flat stock the current rails are made of. Be interesting to see how it hold up though

New controls and tether look like good changes too.

Edit: forgot that some also rub through the fuel line and light on fire.

Cat has not addressed the poor fitting air vents yet....their answer, for now, is to tape or silicone the openings.....SkegPro has a great thread with a homemade fix that can easily be done till Cat replaces them.

Looks like it won't work because it is so different from normal. But..... It is one single rail designed to take all the machine weight all the time. Bending a twin rail when too much force is applied is common, I would think the single rail should take more before it fails.

I think this rigid single rail will be more predictable than T-motion. T-MOTION in my opinion disconnects the rider and chassis from the rear balance point. As the twin rails change their position under the sled it changes the center of gravity of the machine. The single rail is rigid and will allow the track to confirm to the hill but the balance and center of gravity of the sled should not be changed. I think that by going to a single rail the tipping point has been moved closer to center and will make it way easier to get the sled on edge but will also have a predictable feel.

With all that being said I don't think I will be one of the first to try it. It could be a piece of junk too. Not sure if the track will want to come off the rail frequently or how the track will hold up in low or hard snow conditions.

At least they made it an option and didn't do like Doo and go all in and have to tell everyone it's awesome and Doo knows best.
