You are right. She has never used downhill reverse. Sometimes she should have but that's another story.

Weird they couldn't figure out why it lost compression.

Pretty stand up that you got a new motor.
Must be a good dealer.

Yeah but now that you outed him , he has to suffer the wrath and scorn of the Doo-tards cause he didn't follow the Doo code of silence regarding engine failures !!!

How long did it take dealer to finnally look at it Doug.. It was a while!!

They told me "they didn't know" but that the Mag side piston had no compression. After tear down they couldn't pin point anything.

This past January, we had to pull it out and they replaced the motor on warranty. I mentioned it in passing. No problem with the dealer and BRP only took two days to approve the warranty work.

We got to it in due course, had the parts in stock and waited for BRP to give us a full autho for a complete motor as opposed to piecing it together. That is what Doug wanted so we made sure it happened. Nice try on the trolling though.

I had heard about that as well, actually my dealer in LA also offered a loaner sled a few weeks back when we had thought we needed a head replacement as well.. guess he's on board..

can't speak for Doug, but we both were down same time and it sucks, even if it's a SLED.. For me no different than a tractor/combine/truck.. Get the dam thing running ASAP

Further to snopro's comment Fred, I understand that if they have some major rebuilds in progress (whether it be CanAms, SeaDoos, or other sleds), it is wise to finish up what is started so further problems don't materialize. The other deterrent to not having it ready in two days (as you think it should be) was some medical issues with staff. I was happy and it was resolved in my favour. Bow Ridge did the right thing and stood up for a Doo-Laide drinking customer that hasn't been a problem for them.

Probably a weak piston return spring, most dealers don't know how to check them properly

Are those sort of like muffler bearings or foo-foo valves? I'm not into the nitty-gritty workings of engines.

I dont think the 850 is the kind of sled you want to keep for 10 years. That is just my opinion though.

I think a 174 T3 might just be the perfect sled for you.
Thanks, I picked up a 2016 174 X with e-start, 300 km and 1 1/2 yrs left on warranty, if anyone is looking for a new 2016 174" X with pull start, give Riverside Honda a call, amazing deal, would have bought it but e-start, spare belt, tunnel bag, seat bag, quick clickers, muff pot add up close to 1000 extra and i'm not going without e-start or shot. Ski-Doo might have the 850 dialed in by 2020 and i will snow check one for my last sled (14th sled)

I've gone through two belts, #391 belts at 850km which exploded and another are at 1700km, just a few small strings probably still good. Replaced with the new 2018 belt so far so good with ~300km on it. I'm not complaining, I'm OK with this, anyone who knows me, ride pretty hard. Sled will be for sale pretty quick.
