I had to work so I was not able to go out riding yesterday. My neighbor and his son took my daughter out for the day. She's on a new to her 2012 which is a lot different than her old 2004 and she found out the hard way these new machine tip way easier.
To make a long story short she's not entirely sure what happened. Caught an edge or just wasn't balancing the sled enough but she went over and down an embankment. She has a pretty nasty bruise on her leg and we will see how she is feeling today if it warrants a trip to the doctor to have a look at it.

The reason for this message is I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to my neighbor, his son and all that helped last night.
A hand come along was located (and needs to be returned) from someone camping in the parking lot. Riders stopped by and assisted making sure to get my daughter back to the truck safe so she could drive to get cell service to inform me all was ok but it was going to be a late night.
To the others that stopped and helped pull the sled back up on the trail, used oil from their machine to put some in my daughters machine (Rolled over and broke the filler cap, all oil drained out as it was upside down) which was in vain because the throttle was snapped off so needed to be towed and hand lifted onto the trailer, I sincerely thank you! It makes me feel proud to be amongst a bunch of enthusiast that would go over and above to help out a fellow rider as I would when called upon.
I hope I have not missed anyone and if I did please feel free to speak up as you deserve a pat on the back.
AGAIN THANK YOU!!!!!!

Hope everything turns out ok. Speaking from a Dad who is just getting his own daughters into the sport it is comforting to know that we have such a supportive community. Kudo's to the folks who helped out.

I brought up 2 kids sledding in the mountains, since they were about 8 years old... We went through a lot up in the hills, and lots of situations happen, and yes, the whole sled community really chips in, when in need. My kids are now 25(daughter) and 23(son) years old, and hopefully their kids will experience the same support when they get to the big hills. Our sled group has helped out many in need of help, from just a simple little piece, to life threatening annuerisms..... The sled community must stick together and flourish as a whole. I fear for what environmentalists are trying to doo up in the mountains/foothills, more than anything, and hopefully this sport is around for years to come.

Thx all.

Her bruises will heal and it wont hold her back. She already was self analyzing what happened, what she thought she should have been doing differently. It's experience, with thankfully only a bump to her knee. Parts are replaceable. Sled will get fixed up and ready to go sooner than later.

Question 1 - How is your daughter, her bruise?

Question 2 - Did you ever reach anyone about the come-along?

If not, please call me, Scott @ 403-560-6652, or P.M. Glen - Trails Committee Organizer - a message @ Sledderglen here on S&M, and we will get it back to the appropriate person. All campers, I believe, were part of the trails committee, or their friend. We will get it returned for you, if you still have it.

She's doing fine thank you.

My neighbour has the number of the fellow that lent him the come along. He was if he hasn't already going to contact them and make arrangements to return it.
