Tarp for towing dead sled

Looking for the best type of cheap/light/durable tarp to attach to a sled track to make it easier to tow back. I want to keep it in my pack all the time to double as a survival tarp if we gotta stay the night, therefore, i don't want to use a crazy carpet or one of those dedicated sled tow things.

A tarp will just conform to the shape of the track and not help much.

I have a buddy tow pro. Never used $50.00. You can unroll it and make circular wall for wind block wall. pm me

Have used a crazy carpet with precut tie holes already punched through worked good, just a pain keeping it on the tunnel. Started carrying the tarp, added some more grommets, tarp worked, it was late spring, tarp was destroyed on the ride out, Saved a $1000 chopper ride! No problem with track or sled sliding. 5x7

Had a full day retrieval last season and have been thinking about setting up something better in case it happens again. Freak accident turned the skid into a taco on a new 850. Thought it would only take a couple hours, but ended up taking most of the day. We fought with crazy carpets, sleds etc. & they all sucked. Need something stiff that will cover the entire track. Anything that conforms at all to the track (or busted parts), just creates drag.

Been thinking about rigging up a better tow rig from a couple old snowboards or just an old modified calf sled and keeping it in my trailer.

So I am curious. When you have a Snowtow or crazy carpet under the track, what do you do when you get to the top of a hill? Do you have to stop and remove it or just unhook the tow and get out of the way? Just wondering as I have never had to do a recovery and no brakes down a steep hill just doesn't seem like a good idea. I imagine the back end would want to pass the front if you tried to go around a corner...

If you have another sled tie it to the back bumper then use it as a braking sled
