I am gonna be the Dad dude, if you are headed up to the mountains to hit some fresh pow, here are things you should consider:
1. Sounds like you have some time on your hands, so meet up with some locals about any area. If you are new to the area and new to sledding in the mountains, some experience in both departments will make the whole experience far more enjoyable.
2. If you have not already done this, get the equipment and training necessary to be able to enjoy riding in the hills and being able to come back and tell the tales in the hot tub at the end of the day.
My dad rant is over, enjoy your time off and watch out for stumps and rocks. Its hard on gear and the body when ya hit them.
