Pics of my buddies RMK after the throttle stuck. Sled went full pin for 50 yards off of a cliff....only had around 65 km's on it. Pics are when it was being choppered off of the mountain. GET A TETHER.

What happened with it afterwards, I would buy that. I assume insurance has/had it.

Family friend guy in his early 20s was on a skidoo not wearing his tether sled rolled throttle stuck wide open and sled rolled back ontop of him and he lost his arm up the elbow got burnt off in the track. He is very lucky he didnt die. So important to wear a tether wether riding at home or the mountains as it happened 1 mile fromhis house here in sask

The reality is most guys think it will never happen to them, only the other guy. Why are most of us wired to only learn the hard way?

Thanks for sharing. You may save one sled (or life) by posting.

What makes no sense..... Is sleds that come with tethers and PEOPLE don't wear them.

True. Learned to wear mine always the hard way. Was "just" coming back up from a creek to where buddies were. Ended up bailing off a stuck throttle and watching it roll a few times. Got lucky, just a bruise and broken windshield. Wear it ALWAYS now.

And yes I do know what he means..... ALL sleds should come with a tether, regardless of the model.

Hadn't installed one on my turbo viper, went between 2 tree hooked my throttle cable pulled it wide open then dumped me in the tree well under it thank god for Yamaha's thors system it shut the sled off. Needless to say it has a tether and I wear it faithfully!!!

For the life of me I dont understand why people cant take 2 seconds to clip it on if they have one..if you think you look cool by not wearing one I just shake my head at you.its there for a reason..so you dont get seriously injured or write your sled off.

for guys that dont have teathers..i would strongly reccomend getting one installed.personally i would not ride a sled without one.

teathers are there to prevent injury to you or your sled..SO CLIP IT BEFORE YOU RIP IT!
