I've rode doo for several years now and have been really happy with the product, including last year with a 850 that ran flawlessly! I was planning on running an 18 850 this year but recently been having second thoughts. After learning today of the cancellation of energy east and the pleasure taken by Quebec politicians from that result, as well as the endless government hand outs to that province at the west's expensive I'm seriously thinking of saying F you doo I'd rather support the hard working people of Minnesota!

Bombardier and BRP are two separate companies. Bombardier TSE: BBD.B is aerospace and BRP Inc TSE: DOO is the fun toys company. Just a FYI.

If you feel that strongly about it to purchase a product from a foreign country that is putting extremely prohibitive and unfounded duties on several of our large industries while driving their own protectionist agenda then fill your boots.

Why not? the parts are built in foreign countries and the product is assembled here. Same as the planes. Your not the only one scotts that feels this way.

FRANKLY THIS CANADA IS FOREIGN TO ME(maybe not LOL I was a young man when Pierre was in power) but to your point I think it is a better place to live than the states at this time.I hope incidences such as the one that occurred in Edmonton do not reoccur.

Wow......looking at that 850 sitting in your garage must be eating you like cancer. To save you all that pain and grief I'll be more than happy to take it off your hands for.....say $5000.00? Don't forget about boycotting maple syrup too while your at it.

yes, owned by the same family group. but yes separate companies, whatever that means. more government handout money i'm guessing. which is all good if you are the receiver of such funds. i am all for buying Canadian, just don't like having to buy the same product twice over.

In any case, BRP is still a Canadian company. Shoot Quebec in the foot by killing BRP and all you're really doing is killing a Canadian company and probably increasing transfer payments to Quebec. It's hard, but don't think like an Easterner - we're all in it together.

What a dismal and pointless thread. I don't want to buy anything out of western Canada because of Energy East? The question is...........Do all eastern Canadians support the cancellation of Energy East or just a few vocal politicians? And proof on your theory would be nice to back your arguments?

IMHO, the only thing that will be affected by a boycott of BRP toys, will be the local businesses that sell and service the toys. What western Canada buys is a drop in the bucket to BRP sales.

totally agree, western canada sled sales are a fraction of eastern sales, recreation products i don't think get the government hand outs , mainly the commercial company. i may be wrong? it seems to be the way of big business, using as much government money as possible, wish i had some!!!!!

i am in the mindset that there are likely a majority of eastern canadians that support the cancellation, Proof- they are voting these clowns in, and from conversations with people back east i find that is the mind set, stats? numbers - votes cast. ? there are likely several poles that confirm it. no idea. people believe what they are being told and like to follow the herd.

way to change that mindset is show them there will be reduction in fuel prices, home heating, etc etc.

I can guarantee you BRP is not getting any of the Bombardier handouts. They are making good money already without help. The guys that are cashing in are the executives of Bombardier aerospace. The family has part ownership of the rec division but are not majority owners so their input is limited in BRP's success.
