A radio can't compete with a Garmin Rino. GPS capability so you can ping your buddy and drive right to him is 100% better than trying to talk directions to each other.

too bad they are only 2 watts and only have the frs channels and are about 600 bucks!

This may be a dumb question, will the bca radios work with these also ? I currently run bca's however I'm looking to upgrade to the baofeng.
Get one dude, love it over the bca radios

Can talk to bluelake cabin from 13 km yard Creek side, lol they could hear me but I couldn't hear them till I was well past the corner up the cut block

The idea is better then the execution some times. It is far from fool proof.

The furthest I have gotten with these radios is 20km out past rocky mountain house. The only issue I have is one of my radios has dust under the screen cover. I have to see if I can pry it up and clean it. I cannot see the display anymore. Other then that and static coming through in bursts the odd time they have been good.

They work really good. More people should use them.

The odd static burst we have found. Other than that no issues.

Unless you get the US version.

Have you had any problems or complaints with RF burn with these? Being that they are 8watt and held in close proximity to your body and knowing that I have felt a burn from a 5 watt Baofeng I have reservations about these Chinese high power Multiband radios.

Like with any radio you shouldn't have the antenna up against your body. I have experienced any effects or heard of any either.

Is that pricing for each Radio? We just bought 5 radios with exact same accessories and programming cable for 200-300 For the whole package

But no programming, that's a good 1/3 Rd of the price, cause I'm sure it takes time to do it

20 min to program all 5 radios with all new rr channels plus about 10 or more additional channels. Now that I have the list saved I can change programming in a few min... programming is easy I have other personal radios that I have to occasionally have to add channels to. Takes longer to boot laptop ..lol..

I could sell cheaper radio for 65 bucks too but I only sell what I use and like. I have over 100 channels programed in mine.

Maby look on eBay and Amazon
.... I don't sell em even though I should for that kind of profit. But our club purchased same spec radios and accessories for what I already posted... We use em for safety and loan them out to other riders/clubs of needed..

Yes, and I know what the radio alone is worth online, plus the accs.
I didnt ask if you sold them, you said you just bought 5 online for 200-300 bucks, Im curious on what hardware you got, or your math is way off.

No my math is not way off.. I know roughly what we paid for all 5. Same specs, same accessories if u were to put them side by side they would look identical. I don't have them here they are with other members as I have my own radios that I use...

As far as I'm concerned people selling these radios to a club or back country user for huge profit is just wrong.. drop the price to something reasonable and sell 2x more..people use these for safety so why not make them reasonably priced so more people can afford them? I'm sorry but I bought a new brand name portable for not much more.

Yes your price is way wrong let's see you back it up with an invoice. I buy a 100 at a time and pay way more than that. Spec don't count there is a lot of crap out there. If you are happy with what you got, great . Like I said I could sell a cheaper radio for 65 buck but I don't
