RIP Josh. I know you will be missed immensely. Always a character and a stand up guy.

Josh was a nice guy and way too young to die. As sledders we can play it safe, get all the training and have all the gear but we all know there is risk in this sport. It is a decision we make every trip and must accept that if it is our time, we went doing what we love. This scares me as Josh came across as a level headed guy and not a risk taker and to me that means any one of us could be next. I don't want to sit on my couch to stay safe so what is a guy to do? I guess just be over cautious, even if it wicks a bunch of the fun out of it. R.I.P. Josh and I will pray for your family.

One of Josh's buddies posted up a video regarding Josh o FB thru Thunderstruck. Pretty simple error, he got stuck in the trees, stepped off his sled. And that was enough for the snow to let go. Never, never under estimate mother nature, she doesn't care how many courses you've taken, the amount of equipment or knowledge you have. She'll pull the joker card whenever, so respect the backcountry!!! RIP Josh.

Yep he was sidehilling through trees came to an opening, got stuck so he stepped off his sled, which caused the hill to slide from underneath him.

Terrible news. Having been skiing down in Jackson, and targhee this whole week and last the conditions are scary. Driving through alpine there were naturals all over the place on every aspect at every elevation. That was two days ago.
