Just info passed on from fellow riders, I would never own a electric start sled. I ran one in a atv, but never used it in the winter to really put it through the cold start test.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Esart either. My sled came with it though, so I'm going to run it and see if I notice the weight.

Are you guys using battery tenders? If not it is a good investment. $40 for the charger. A lot cheaper then a new battery every couple years.

Earth x, if you don't mind spending a little more and want to shed weight.
I talked to the guy at Battery World about lithium batteries. He's not a fan. Says they're just not "there" yet. Yes, they're super light, but VERY expensive. And their power curve sucks, in that they're good, good, good, dead. No warning at all. Whereas a regular AGM battery is good, good, fair, fair, low, low, dead. Said that if I really wanted one tho, he would gladly sell me one. And he went to school to learn about this stuff.

Had one of them super light lithium batteries in my tapex before it was stolen. When the battery was warm, that sucker turned the starter hard! When it was cold, nada. You had to "excite" it to get it to charge up. Really sucked when its -10 and colder. Ended up putting a hand warmer on the battery. About an hour before riding, I would flick the switch, hand warmer would "excite" the battery and heat it up.

Then it was stolen...

Would I run another one again? Not for a winter toy. PITA!
