Hey RGM, Since you have been selling 100s of these have you thought about designating a frequency that we all could reserve for emergencies like if someone gets stranded and needs help? I have heard of people reserving the FRS channel 9 - sub 11. This frequency is also programmed into the BC Link radios on E channel. What do you think?

I have and this is something that the BCSF should really pick up. With the BaoFeng they are dual channel so you could have the channel you and your buddies are on and at the same time listen to an emergency frequency. Some of the bigger area could even have there own repeater for that as well. 9-11 is channel 104 on my programed list and on BCA channel E

In sicamous, the main area channel is monitored by the best Western ( radio station set there) and have repeaters to it for emergencies

Radio showed up today, still waiting for mics and whip antenna which should be here next week. If you are thinking of ordering do it soon as 1/2 of these are already sold.

Just resent it. Also if you don't have the list handy you can see what the frequency is by going into menu then punch in 21 hit menu again then you can scroll through Name, Channel or frequency, select frequency hit menu again then exit. This will display the frequency on the A channel (top display) you can then see what the channel # is on the B channel ( little # on the right) and enter it in the A channel and there you go.

They will work together. Bca radios are preset to certain frequencies or channels. These ones have presets set up but can also have vhf and uhf frequencies typed in.
