Caribou Closure Areas

it is not about the caribou, this is just the buzz word to get all the feel good people on board, the y2y is behind all this, get educated now. get involved, as your riding areas are going to be gone soon! ask yourself how this y2y canmore organization gets it's funding, Rockefeller foundation is largest contributor, us big oil, to keep us under control.

they have everyone focused on the caribou, which will be gone as soon as the predator pop starts to increase, next spring. it is likely too latr now as the sheeple have voted in the NDP

One thing I've learned over the last while, is sometimes being the opposition allows for much more power and influence. I saw this first hand in Victoria a few years ago when discussing caribou with Minister Thompson, MP's and MLA's. They knew what needed to be done, but pressure from the masses (Vancouver, Toronto etc) prevented appropriate action. Don't give up hope buddy.. It's our turn to push and bring forth the ridiculous, including warm fuzzy politics as opposed to science based conservation. Work with some of the many opposition MLA's to have our voice herd. They're taking the boots to the Green/NDP pretend government. Now is the time to be loud, for we don't have to be all pc to satisfy those in the large city centers who think they know about Conservation needs, yet have never stepped foot on anything but concrete and asphalt. Case and Point our Nelson/Creston MLA who is one of the most unproductive members in government, who is more focused on Jumbo Wild, than her own constituents needs. Making her the Energy minister.. bahahaha... did you see how quickly she caved to public pressure! Oh ya.. I was sitting back and laughing like this "muhahahahaha"... Just keep on moving forward, reach out to government and be loud and passionate about it. Trust me, It's working.
This is the East Kootenay MLA Tom Shypitka, who took time to meet with members from the Cranbrook and Creston Club and BCSF ED Donegal Wilson to discuss Caribou, and other situations that we've previously been the scapegoat of. Tom is epic and awesome, and has already brought a HUGE voice to our cause, rallying other MLA's to back our user group, and Science Based Conservation. Although he isn't "my" MLA, he is a nearby MLA willing to stand up for what is right.

thanks, the method they are using here is divide and conquer.
sledders seem to hate atv's, hunters hate atvs, horse riders hate atv's and sledders, fishermen hate everyone. if they could get together, they would defeat the ndp. until then they will all lose.

The NDP didn't win! They conspired with the Greens to overthrow the duly elected provincial government! Still can't wrap my head around that one. Frickin' British Parliamentary system!

true, all that matters is they are in power and have a y2y agenda, that is being spun to rob you of you recreational activities.

I think one thing that hunters may be unaware of is the practice of competitive prey reduction as was done with moose over the past 13 years. . Reducing ungulate populations such as moose/deer/elk via issuing of more tags was a part of the theory if you have less food for wolves, there will be fewer wolves...and more.. You guessed it CARIBOU. All this done in the name of one ecotype.. not even separate species. Now we, who are hunters sit back and realize how bleak it looks for moose, and in our area Mule Deer, but according to "the experts".. it's ok. 20 years ago, we had a holy grail type situation for Mule Deer in our area of the Kootenays.. The population has notably decreased along with the Genetics for the HUGE rack bucks. The most likely place to see mule deer is in the city of Cranbrook, not in the backcountry. and I could get on a whole new rant about that situation.. (stupid humans feeding wildlife attracting predators into urban area who then cry when the deer become a danger to humans and themselves, therefore, forcing a cull) ...

these do good clowns are using science from other area's, provinces , countries, they haven't a clue. but they have unlimited funds to hire psychologists to provide the buzz words to get all the citiots on board. and they are even more clueless.

it has nothing to do with saving the eco system, the money people could care less, they want to stop the movement of fossil fuels. that is were there money is made in the US of A.

Most of the time they don't use science at all when dealing with snowmobiles, because the science doesn't support their argument. They use the "precautionary principle", pretending it's science based when it's actually based on a lack of science.
