Video Editing Software

Hey all,

What are some of you guys using, or would recommend for editing your home videos on your computers, and making DVD copies? We got a new Sony DVD Camcorder, but it doesn't come with any great software for adding audio or other special effects.

Bad News

Sorry Boys, those of us using Macintosh computers have Awesome edit software built in. Doesn't help you but it sure keeps me happy and I can make a DVD that looks "Pro"

Ron has some software he has been working with and seem quite happy.

Tyler, maybe you have some input seeing as you have a background in the I.T. world?

I got a sony dvd camera & find the software that came with it (Image mixer) works well, Just takes time to explore thru it. My camera is model (DCR-DVD 200) it is near 3 yrs old..... Still learning about the software, Just not using it enough. Didnot get any video or much riding this past weekend in Valemount.
Tekim, Your software with your camera, Is it Image mixer also ?

I use Magix Movie Edit Pro 11. You can edit,move around clips, add pictures and music, add in subtitles,credits and fades and has many special effects. It also allows you to burn your projects in several different formats(DVD,SVCD,etc...) you can check it out at www.magix.com and buy it almost anywhere, got mine at future shop for $70.

DVD Creators

The only software that came with my camcorder was "Picture Motion Browser", which only allows you to view pictures or video already on your computer. No editing software came with it. I see that my laptop came with InterVideo's WinDVD Creator, which I think only has the basic tools for making videos. xtremegriz, how big was the file/video that you have posted on the net?

For any true video editing I would buy a MAC. I don't do much with video's yet. I'd like to someday but everything else seems to be taking priority right now.

tekim, file was 4.33KB. Putfile has a limit of 100mb for uploading. The only problem I had with this software was it wouldn't recognize my digital camcorder, so I just imported the video from my cameras software program. My camera is a JVC-DV800 and the software with it is "Imagemixer"

I use Roxio Easy Media Creator 8, Ive had this for a year so I think there will be a 9 or 10 but I really like it. I can make DVD's of video's and pics and edit them.

Very good video, a we bit shaky though LOL!What more could you ask for spending 70.00 buck!
