Sorry, i did a search got one decent thread.

What are people using to clean the exterior plastic parts?

Eg: I have an XP. Shroud, tank and panels, 3 Different surfaces on the plastic.

I personally have used Turtle wax on the shiny plastic, but have no idea what to use on the other two.

Thanks:beer:

I was told that the brake cleaners are pretty harsh on anything but brakes so I don't use it, but ya, it does shine s**t up!

If you wash and clean the black panels on your sled and then spray it with the stuff they use on tires to make them shine, your plastics will look better than new.

brake clean works great!!!! takes belt dust right off!:)

DONT USE BRAKE CLEAN!!! Yes brake clean works great for cleaning just about anything BUT itll eat the paint right off your hood. and any other thing it touches. Strongly recomend not using it on anything but maybe the tunnel, but even then, clean it with polish :)

:nono: Brake Clean? Good luck bringing the shine back up after the clear coat comes off. If you're cleaning under the hood be very careful not to get WD40 or brake clean on your clutches. I was reading an article the other day about how clutches are porous and when they warm up these cleaners come out of the clutch and get onto your belts and slippage occurs. For plastics, the best stuff I've found for sleds and quads is EZ Traxx Sport Polish. I could only find it on-line but it is so worth it. Unbelievable what it does to bring up and maintain the shine as well as cleaning up windshields and clear plastics. Brings windshields back to near new...if they're not too far gone. For the black plastic trim, I use spray on Trim Shine.

Pledge is what I use. Only my wife keeps buying lemon pledge. A lemony smelling sled is a whole lot of WRONG!

I agree with travisfader & bc ghost, don't use brake clean for anything but cleaning your clutches or the chaincase interior. And when you use it on your clutches wash it afterwords with just a mild dish detergent & hot water & let dry at least overnight. As for the WD 40, sure , it does make everything nice & shiny... if you are determined to use it spray it on a cloth, then wipe it on. But realize that WD 40 attracts dust. Same for the Tire Shine product. Also not good anywhere near the clutches. Don,t mind the pledge to much, same thing though, spay on a soft cloth, then apply. The Mother's product is way better. JMO :)

I start with a Mr Clean magic eraser(xtra strength) when everything is clean I hit it with a coat of Motul Shine & Go. Seems to work well.

On our F-Cat green plastic panels when they get dirty spray them with Spray nine. Do not let dry, a minute or so and rinse off with a pumper bottle filled with water. Then wipe up. Then apply any good detailer spray like mothers or as others have said pledge....
