Has anyone installed one? Looks like it may have to be a mechanical one over a RER? Cost?? Going to stop at Martin tomorrow but trying to find out more info and havent had much luck looking it up online.

i didn't install one, but a friend of mine had a 2000 summit 700 136" with the mechanical reverse,
what would have changed between the 2000's and the 2003, cause the 2003 came with the rer? anything?

well not 100% sure but i recently was about to buy a 2001 800 (ski doo) motor with out reverse and i thought i could put the RER parts out of it into this one, like the stator parts and stuff.....but the mechanic who was going to tear down the motor looked and said their is no way as the place were it fits into is not right.......not to sure what he was talking about maybe like the case was not formed for the 03 RER????

Well it sounds like the 2002 can get the rer reverse and 2001-2000 gets the mechanical reverse. From Martin the kit was 689 and they have to order it. I am going to check around on the net and try to get the kit cheaper, if not I will order from them. Might not do it until the new year which will give me time to ride without it. I can see how bad I want reverse too.

I also am interested in putting reverse into My 2000 summit.
But is it worth the 700.00$ to install it.If You find a cheaper alternative let Me know.

Well I had some good news today unloading the sled off my trailer for the first time tonight. I am able to drive on the back and then drive off the side behind the front bar and ahead of the wheel wells. I didnt think there would be the room there but there is plenty. That helps out with the reverse issue somewhat. I still would like one if I can get it cheap enough.
