Looking for Mountain Riders - HCS Snowmobile Forums

"Hey guys, the "Boon Doctor" here (Aaron York). I work in health care and I am a mountain back country rider,(hence the name) trained 2 years in Revelstoke BC and rode with the best of the best and was schooled out there. Thought I could ride till I trained with Personal friends Kurtis Broza, and Mark Shade, film consultants to Braaap films and Sled necks etc. Im avalanche trained and CPR certified. I live in Burlington, VT and have several mountain ranges I ride within a few hours from my house. But I always have to go alone because eastern riding culture is (trail culture) and I outgrew that as a kid and moved to technical backcountry riding 3 years ago. I am on a fully modified Ski-doo Summit 146", with 2.5" lugs, 800 Etec, rebuilt because the 2011 etek 800s were blowing up on us over 5000 feet elevation where all my break in hours occured. my engine needed a rebuild after 1100 miles.

A few of us are breaking new ground/snow and using these sled to ride the Green and white mountains here in the east. I am looking to ride with and train people. A long ride for me is 3 hours, and probably under 20 miles. I dont enjoy trails as there is no challenge in it for me, and my sled is fully devoted to the steep and deep, it overheats if i'm not in the pow, or spinning through the loose stuff. A cross over sled will follow me for a little ways, but lacks verticle grip unless you toss at least a 2" lug powder max track on. I find its all about passion for a specific backcountry riding style, and few in the east are willing to put $15,000 into a sled that is horrible on trails.

I ride smart, out of site, out of mind and keep environmental ethics always in mind, I find that this is a very low impact sport. I ride areas already hammered by logging activity. Skid roads provide good access. I ride trails only to get to the base of my line, and then I am breaking trail verticle the rest of the way.

I am looking for some eager people, willing to get stuck, willing to scratch up their sleds, and willing to free ride and see what a mountain sled and rider can really do. Since I only have my sled that I have about $26,000 invested in, my co riders would need a sled with a minimum of a 137" track with a minimum of 1 3/4 lugs, and an engine generating at least 150 hp. A 2.25" lug on a 146+" track is best. you will not be sitting down so the handle bars have to be elevated to waste height. Also, a narrow ski stance is a must less than 40", we spend half our time on one ski and you have to be able to roll up your sled into spontaneous carves in counter steer manuevers for side hilling.

If your interested in riding with me, and are cool with leaving the trail in the proper places please contact me. Free ride season lasts longer than trail season! big benefit, I am planning on riding a mountain in the NEK of VT this weekend that I google earthed, and will have a fresh foot of pow on it that the trails wont see.

Baa ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa... awwww... If this is a joke.. this is awesome.. if it is an adult Please hide the windex and only use edible products to clean the window just in case.. wouldn't want to poison
the rockstar, he has many a rider to Train..

If I can figure out how to record the conversation and post it.. I think I may call him and see what he has to say about Training Women riders, maybe we won't be suited for his type of riding afterall. Those summits look pretty bad arse.

Thank you.. this made my day! I'm still laughing!

Bwahahaha. This is awesome.

I wish I lived closer so I could go take one of my bravo short tracks and school him.....

Is it just me, or did it sound like he was doubling a girl on the back?
