I wanted to insure my bike and plate it mainly so I wouldn't get hassled when I'm riding.
Talking to my insurance company they are unsure how to class a bike with a snowbike kit on it, technically its modified and coverage would be void if something were to happen.
Generally if I wreck my gear I fix it, however theft is my main concern regarding my bike.
What did you guys do?

after alot of phone calls. Cooperators did my bike 12 300XC and 16 ST kit for $700ish a year for fire theft and liability. would be $1200ish if you wanted collison which i did not. i also am only worried about theft.

I have heard of others for alot cheaper but that is because they think that their bike coverage from summer insurance will cover there now more then double in value snowbike.

Even if you think you are covered CALL your broker and make sure you are. you wont win a fight with them after your bike is stolen and your figting for your money.

I was told as of November cooperators changed their underwriting policy and will no longer cover modified vehicles and a snowbike is considered a modified dirt bike. I had a friend that insures his through the cooperators but when I sought insurance last week they said they won't do it anymore.

I ended up insuring through oasis. Exact same cost for comprehensive as you. Insured for $15000. Their collision was cheaper at $880.

I have insurance through Intact, dirtbike is insured and the kit was added as an accessory. Not 100% sure what the policy is yet as I just got it done, but is only $250/yr for $9000 value of the bike and kit.

Kevin at Bulger Insurance (Edmonton) can do it.

I was quoted $1500 by my regular provider, Kevin came in at $280.... I've got a 2009 WR450 w/2013 timbersled LT kit.

I insured through them in November. My dad just tried and they won't take any more single policies. you insure everything with them, or nothing.
